Skincare red flags 🚩

🚩Over exfoliation: this can cause premature aging, dryness or dehydration, a damaged barrier, sensitive skin, in addition to other problems. Depending on the exfoliant you may only need to exfoliate 1-2x’s a week. Check with your esthetician if you use something that can be used daily.

🚩wear spf: This is the top anti-aging cream you could use. You’re entire skincare routine is pointless if you’re not finishing off with spf AND reapplying when in the sun. Not using SPF you will end up with hyperpigmentation, age spots, fine lines / wrinkles, and possible skin cancer.

🚩Girl wash your Face! : Don’t sleep in your makeup. Don’t be lazy, wash your face. Sleeping in makeup can cause breakouts, irritation, and premature aging.

🚩 Picking: do not be self destructive… as tempting as it may be, you’re creating bigger problems and issues. Like bacteria infections and pitted or discolored scarring. I know it’s hard to stop, but trust me, I’ve been there its best to not pick.

🚩Not using moisturizer: it’s a myth that your own oils can moisturize your face. Moisturizers help lock in that hydration prevent TEWL (basically dehydration). Even oily skin needs moisture. Canteen balance from Skin Scripts is one of my favorites to help keep you hydrated without feeling greasy.
