Owner Kristie Shay has been doing hair for 20 years in Lawrence and Kansas City. Bella Hair Extension+Color Studio began in a small space upstairs in beautiful Downtown Lawrence. Our newest salon location near 6th and Rockledge offers the latest innovation in the world of Hair Extensions: Handtied Wefts. In 2019 Kristie traveled to LA to train with Chrissy Rasmussen and her team of Extension Educators from Habit Salon. Kristie has Masters level training in Hair Extensions and Color Artistry. She recently completed the training modules to be certified as a 'That Perfect Blend' Handtied Weft Extension Specialist. She has worked on the Style Team for the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders, worked behind the scenes doing hair and makeup for Fashion shows in Kansas City, like the Rock and Fashion Show, the Tony Bowls Fashion Show, and the Crush Magazine Fashion Show and magazine launch party. Kristie worked for Nordstrom doing hair for their Beauty Events, as well as private photographers doing hair and makeup for photo shoots in studio and on location.
