“Dorcas”is Hebrew for “Tabatha “ , this page is a documentation of my doula journey. What is a Doula? To keep it simple it’s a support to a birthing person, we do not deliver babies, we do not make decisions, and we don’t take the place of the father or partners. I’m here to advocate for my clients , to support their decisions,provide updated resources ,and most of all provide a comfortable birthing atmosphere so my clients can relate to childbirth as a positive experience. I started my doula training with Mama Glow which I completed, the next course was taken through Common Sense Childbirth that I also completed. I received a scholarship through the” Ladies Of Hope Ministries “for both of the above trainings.This next class is called “Calm Child Birth Teacher Training“ this will help me serve the population that I champion for ! Women and girls incarcerated and formerly incarcerated! The calm child birth class caught my attention because, I was always anxious and depressed and statics shows this can be passed on to the unborn child! I will be doing a weekly check in post class and posting resources and other tools that I’m learning @ Calm birth Teacher Training, I’m learning how to meditate and will be sharing with the group!!
