Like menthol rub but hate petroleum products? Here is a DIY menthol rub that you can feel,safe rubbing on.

Nighttime Menthol Rub
4 oz carrier oil ( I used FCO I had infused with rosemary)35 to .5 oz of beeswax pastilles (less will be more like store v***r rub, more will be more like a balm)
1 to 1.5 tsp of menthol crystals (depending on how strong you like it)
5 drops eucalyptus oil
10 drops camphor oil
10 drops lavender

In a double boiler, or a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup sat in a pan of water at the carrier oil and your beeswax. When the beeswax is dissolved completely add menthol crystals and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and add essential oils. Add to two 2 oz glass jars, or metal tins and loosely add lid. Do not tighten lid until it cools.
Always test on small area of skin before using to make sure it isn’t irritating. Not for children under 8.

Recycling Christmas trees is a great way to reuse and to clean with. My go to all purpose cleaner is ACV infused with pine needles. I add the pine needles to a jar and cover with ACV. In 6 weeks I strain it and store it. I add to a spray bottle 1 part mixture and 2 parts water. Great cleaner when you don’t want chemicals.

Lice Treatments

Problem: Conventional lice treatment products often contain pyrethroids, a class of pesticides containing over 1,000 insecticides. Pyrethroids are one of the most common lice treatments. Because pyrethroids can easily pass the blood-brain-barrier, they can become toxic to the central nervous system. The chemical class may also adversely impact normal behavior in children.

Solution: The best solution is prevention. Teach your children not to share clothing that might spread lice, like helmets, hats, brushes, combs, towels, and hair ties. Check your children’s hair regularly and consider a shampoo meant to prevent head lice using natural solutions like tea tree, thyme, and rosemary.

If your child gets lice, choose treatments that do not contain harmful pesticides. Opt for products containing oils that may kill lice like tea tree, peppermint, and rosemary, and wet-comb your child’s hair with an appropriate lice comb. Be patient and comb often. Sanitize brushes and combs. Research the right treatments for your family and consult a doctor if necessary.
