Happy 4th of July!

One of the hardest parts of this industry that people don’t talk about enough… is the emotional side of it. 💔
When you’ve done someone’s hair for years, through every season of life, it becomes more than just an appointment. You hear about the heartbreaks, the divorces, the highs, the lows. You celebrate wins together, give advice, laugh, cry, and build real friendships along the way. You watch their kids grow up in your chair. Their family becomes part of your life too.
So when one day you realize they went somewhere else, it’s not about “losing a client.” It genuinely feels like a silent breakup you never saw coming. And the hardest part is not even knowing if you did something wrong.
We do stay very busy, booked up with clients, and you would probably think we wouldn’t even notice… but that’s just how much people become a part of your life. We think about them often and pray for them when we say we are.
As hairstylists, we aren’t just service providers. We’re humans with feelings, hearts, and connections to the people who sit in our chairs. And sometimes this career can hurt in ways people don’t realize.
Just one of the quiet downsides of a career built so much on relationships. 🤍

When you love your clients and what you do, but you live with autoimmune diseases with strange, unpredictable experiences.
Days be like..
“New routine. New habits. This is the version of me that finally gets it together 🧘♀️✨”
…and the next morning your body is like:
“Hi. Quick update: we are now tired, inflamed, overstimulated, and thinking about everything we’ve ever done wrong since 2007. No further questions.”
No buildup.
No gradual decline.
Just a full personality switch overnight.
You really go from:✨ Waking up before your alarm, making a to-do list, drinking water like a functioning human, to staring at the wall wondering why your limbs feel like they have emotional weight. ✨
And somehow the brain fog always hits at the worst time.
Mid-sentence. Mid-task. Mid-*trying your best.*😂
Like why did I walk into this room?
What was I saying? Who am I??
Chronic illness really said:✨ We will keep you humble and slightly confused at all times. ✨
So now your life is just:
– checking your energy levels like a phone battery on 3%
– making plans with a built-in “we’ll see”
– doing one task and needing a break like you just ran a marathon
– and explaining again that “tired” is not the same as *this*
And the most frustrating part?
You start to feel better… and immediately get your hopes up…
and then your body’s like: “That was a limited-time offer ❤️”
At this point I don’t trust a good day, I just appreciate it quietly so I don’t scare it away.
Because living with this is basically: Doing your best with a body that changes the rules daily.
Some days you show up.
Some days you barely hold it together.
Either way, you’re still doing it.
And that counts, even if no one else sees it. I will always show up for my clients, all day, every day. 💖

So the other day you found me with my 484782827 day old salad. Today I’m just doing the regular duties of a salon owner.
“They” say us hair stylists have a magic wand, and can create wonders. I think I have the wrong wand in my hand…

I would love to be sharing picture after picture of colors that I do, but let’s face it… I have severe ADHD and I forget to take pictures of my client’s hair.
A.
Lot.
😂😂😂
Just ask them. We joke about it all the time. 😂🤷🏻♀️😂
But here’s a picture of me and the salad I brought last week.
LAST WEEK. 😂😂😂
(I wouldn’t eat it. Js)
Girl, I got you.
