Some honest thoughts from behind the treatment room door today.

We understand how important social media has become for small businesses. We really do. But when you built your business before algorithms, reels, trending audio and constant content demands existed… sometimes it feels exhausting trying to become a full time content creator on top of everything else.

Some weeks, hours are poured into filming, editing, writing and posting, only for it to seemingly disappear into the void.

And truthfully? We would rather spend that energy taking care of people.

Perfecting hands that heal tension.
Learning more about skin.
Creating a space that feels safe to exhale in.
Being present for the humans actually sitting in our chairs.

The funny thing is… I know many of you do see what I post because you bring it up during your appointments all the time. You tell me you watched the video. You mention the post. You quietly follow along even if you never hit “like.”

And honestly, I think a lot of our people are just more Facebook people anyway. Which feels very on brand for us.

So if you’ve stayed here while we figure out how to balance showing up online without losing ourselves in it… thank you.

Sassy Face was built on connection long before social media.
And that will always matter more to us than chasing an algorithm.

As always, I love your face.

Hello my lovelies! My apologies for the double whammy on the recent text & email blast. I had a guest reach out asking about their expiration date that had to jump on sending something out for you. The interwebs gave me the wheel of doom or maybe it just really wanted to make sure you got the memo. 🙂

For those that didn't receive either, Dangit! You opted out of my random marketing blasts or they are in SPAM.

PSA- if you are a voucher holder from my Annual Christmas Buy $100 Get $100, your voucher(s) are expiring on May 31st! This moola is yours, baby! It simply requires $100+ on services and retail to be enjoyed.

Appointments will fill up as the vouchers cycle around. Reserve your experience and we will be awaiting your beautiful face!

Please also note: I have been going cross-eyed revamping my website, for what seems to have taken eons. She is still a work in progress but I hope you find it user friendly, visually appealing and informative without being overly wordy.

There’s something about a little one curled up on her mama that just stops time for a second.

She laid right on her chest while we did her brow wax… completely safe, completely at ease.

And Kat said, “She rarely does this.”

That part got me.

Because it wasn’t just a sweet moment… it was one of those fleeting ones. The kind you don’t get back.

And for a moment, I relived the memory of my son when he was that tiny.

This space has never been about perfection.
It’s about care… in the real, lived-in moments.

Not every service allows for this (facials need a bit more stillness)… but when it does, you don’t have to choose.

If you’ve ever felt like you have to choose between taking care of yourself or being there for your babies… you don’t.

You’re welcome here. Just as you are. Littles & all.

As always, I love your face.

There is one tiny step in my facials that guests talk about long after they leave.

Hair brushing.

Such a simple gesture, yet it changes everything.

Slow, gentle strokes through the hair, just enough pressure to wake up the scalp & soften the muscles that hold tension along the temples & crown. Within seconds the nervous system begins to exhale. Shoulders drop. Breathing slows. The body settles deeper into the table.

Guests often tell me they feel like they are floating.

There is something deeply satisfying about having your hair brushed. It sends shivers down the spine in the best way, that soft ripple that travels through your whole body. For some, it even brings back childhood memories, back when someone brushed your hair before school or bed… if you were lucky enough to survive the 80’s era of teased bangs, side ponytails & enough hairspray to survive a windstorm.

And if a thunderstorm rolls through during your facial?
Absolute magic.

The sound of rain on the windows, distant thunder in the background, your scalp slowly relaxing under the brush… it’s the kind of moment where the whole world seems to slow down.

At Sassy Face, the face is never treated in isolation.

The scalp, fascia, lymphatics & nervous system are all connected. When the scalp muscles soften, the face relaxes more deeply, circulation improves, & the entire treatment becomes more restorative.

Sometimes the smallest rituals are the ones that make you feel the most cared for.

And yes… the hair brushing stays.

Book your next skin ritual & experience it for yourself.

As always, I love your face.

✨ A beautiful milestone for Sassy Face KC ✨

I’m thrilled to share that Dawn has officially completed her training in the Helena Pahava Method & will now be offering this deeply restorative modality alongside me here at Sassy Face.

We deeply appreciate the models that volunteered their gorgeous faces for this achievement. 🙏🏼

This work is unlike anything else in the Kansas City area. The Helena Pahava Method blends advanced manual facial sculpting with intraoral buccal massage to awaken dormant facial muscles, release deeply held tension in the fascia & support healthy lymphatic flow. The result is a face that looks refreshed, supported & vibrant, while the nervous system drops into a profoundly restorative state.

Dawn brings something incredibly special to the treatment room. As a master Reiki practitioner, her calming energy & grounded presence create an environment where the body naturally softens & unwinds. While she works methodically through the muscles, fascia & lymphatics of the face, neck, and jaw, guests often find themselves drifting into a state of deep relaxation and nervous system reset.

Having two certified practitioners in the same space means greater access to this work for our community. More availability, more opportunities to experience this method, and more support for those who are looking to naturally maintain facial vitality, soften muscular tension & beautifully support the longevity of their aesthetic treatments.

It is an honor to expand this offering for the greater Kansas City & Leawood area & to have Dawn standing beside me in this work.

✨ The face tells a story. We’re here to help it age beautifully.

Appointments with Dawn are now open. If you’ve been curious about the Helena Pahava Method or have been waiting for an opening on my schedule, this is the perfect opportunity to experience it.

This week at Sassy Face, a mother/daughter duo, Margaret & Joclyn, flew in from Chicago to share the treatment room, choosing the MELT | Manual Facelift + Buccal Massage back to back. They quickly made themselves at home.

They found their way here through Helena Pahava’s teachings, a lineage of touch I’m deeply honored to carry forward, and proof that intentional care travels well.

We talked about tension, the stories held in the jaw, and how restorative touch softens more than muscle. Joclyn loved the spa music so much she asked for my playlist, and with a little breathing room between appointments, I chauffeured them to The Whole Harvest Kitchen to keep their vegetarian tastebuds happy. Because at Sassy Face, the care doesn’t stop at the treatment table.

Moments like these remind me this work isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about softening, connecting, & feeling at home in your own face.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to experience this level of care, consider this it. Booking is open through the link in bio.

Your face, your story. Always.
As always, I love your face.

2026 does not need your urgency.
It needs your presence.

Slowing down is not falling behind.
Stillness is where your nervous system remembers how to feel safe.
Deep breaths that fill the upper and lower diaphragm tell your body that it can soften, that it is supported.

This is the season of hot tea held in both hands while you’re embraced by a plush throw.
Warm soups, slow cooked meals, nourishment that asks nothing of you except to receive.
Leaning into feminine energy that is intuitive, restorative, and deeply intelligent.

This is why touch matters.
A Stress Relief Scalp Massage is not indulgent, it is regulation.
It invites the body out of survival and back into ease, calming the mind, releasing stored tension, and supporting deeper results in your skin.

You can add it into most services.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your skin, and your soul, is slow down.

As always, I love your face.

P.S. SFKC offer’s an assortment of delicious organic loose leaf tea. Take your pick and enjoy a cup on your way out! 🫖 Rooted in care. Steeped with intention.

Four estheticians.
Five years.
And a friendship built on truth, grit, and showing up for each other when life got loud.

My three esty sisters and I — lovingly known as the KC Esty Mafia — don’t just meet for the holidays.
We meet in the real stuff — the big ideas, the burnouts, the rebuilds, the moments when one of us couldn’t carry our own hope, so the others carried it for her.

We survived a pandemic together, watching our industry get shaken down to the bones.
We planned, we failed, we reinvented, and we kept going because that’s what women do when they refuse to let each other fall.

There’s no competition here.
Just four women, the KC Esty Mafia, who know the weight of this work, who understand the heart behind it, and who choose to rise together every single time.

I’m proud of us.
Proud of the honesty, the courage, the messy conversations, the vulnerability, and the victories we earned with tired hands and full hearts.

Here’s to another year of growth, honesty, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder in an industry that’s better when we lift each other.

I love these women deeply.
They are proof that community is not only possible — it’s powerful.

As always… I love your face.

Happy Thanksgiving from my little turkey and me. 🦃❤️

Today my heart is overflowing with gratitude for the people who carried me when I couldn’t carry myself — the ones who offered their strength, their presence, their wisdom, and their unwavering love.
You know exactly who you are, and I hope you feel even a fraction of what you’ve given me. I appreciate you in ways words will never be enough for.

When I look back at the last 365 days, it takes my breath a little.
Last Thanksgiving, life was shifting beneath my feet. It was our last holiday as a family, and the chaos was just beginning.
This year… it’s different.
It’s quieter.
It’s just me — standing here, a little tender, a lot stronger, and finally at peace.

There’s something sacred about realizing you survived something you once prayed would break differently.
And now it’s time to create new traditions, new memories, and a new chapter that feels honest and true.

Thank you for being part of my story.
And for helping me find myself again.
