It is often said that a dog is man’s best friend, and this is certainly true for Dan and Manny. Manny’s name, Manchego, was chosen years before his adoption, a nod to Dan’s love of cheese, which rivals his affection for him. Dan and I had been manifesting the perfect dog and Manny answered that call.
If you’re new friends Dan will make you feel like they are the most important person in the room. When you meet him, he will tell you a lengthy story about your shared interests and insist on buying you a drink to toast your commonalities. His smile and laughter are contagious, and he will effortlessly charm you into a warm hug when it’s time to say goodbye. Dans hugs are the absolute best, he brings you in firmly and holds on a little too long, and somehow it’s never uncomfortable.
During his time in hospice, Dan’s numerous friends have gathered to share countless stories, many of which were previously unknown to me. Dan’s friendships span a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but they all share a common thread: his exceptional character, the joy he brings to others, and his unwavering dedication to those he cares about.
While Manny is undoubtedly Dan’s best friend, but it is clear that many others hold that title as well. The world is definitely a better place with a friend like Dan.

It’s been 644 days since January 8th, 2024. The day that forever changed us. We were surprised, scared, yet hopeful.

We clung to hope for 3 surgeries, radiation, and several rounds of chemo. All the best treatments couldn’t stop it, yet Daniel Carroll fought so hard. He fought with strength, grace, and humor. He was determined to beat this thing, but GBM fought harder. We all knew the probable outcome; we just didn’t know the when of it all. And Dan chose to be his most positive self through it all.

We are now in day 16 of hospice, and Dan still continues his fight and continues to be the light in the room. He is sleeping more; his medical team assure me he is not in pain and will pass peacefully.

Thank you, everyone, that visits, gave him his last beer, holds his hand, talks to him, recounts stories, and just stares at him – this brilliant, fun-loving, larger-than-life man that will shine in our hearts forever.

Natural highlights for 2025 !

Blonde for summer! This client is new to the area and had 6 month solid regrowth on the bottom, cut a good 4inches added layers and full highlights. Her next appointment will be a gloss/haircut only then we will do lowlights in the fall to further break up the solid blonde bottom, then face frame highlights, then a gloss/haircut. We have a plan for the year, and sometimes it’s better to do the micro appointments to keep hair healthy!
