Fun Fact Friday : Do you know how to read persimmon seeds? First you need to find a nice soft persimmon and remove its seed. Carefully cut the seed lengthwise and inside you will see a white kernel. If you find a knife shape you will have a harsh winter with icy winds that will "cut" through you. If you find a fork you will have a mild winter with a light powdery snow. If you find a spoon you will have lots of snow that you will have to "shovel". We have heard there have been lots of spoons this year. Time to buy some shovels!

Fun fact Friday : Kangaroos only sweat while they are actively hopping. Once they stop moving, they stop sweating to save water. They resort to heavy panting or licking their forearms to keep cool.

Fun Fact Friday: According to American folklore, we can predict the severity of the upcoming winter weather by reading the bands on Woolly Worms. While it is actually the caterpillar larva of the Isabella Tiger Moth, the woolly worm has 13 distinct body segments that represent the 13 weeks of winter. The brown coloring represents mild weather while the black represents harsh weather. The position of the bands can tell us when the harsh weather will hit. For example if there is more black near the head, the beginning of winter will be harsh while if more black is at the tail means harsh weather at the end.

Has anyone found a woolly worm yet? What did it tell you?❄️🐛
