“It’s not done that way” they said.
“The internet and insurance companies will eat you alive” they said.
“People buy convenience not quality” they said. "Businesses bank on volume, not integrity" they said.

“Not on my watch” I said.

All I can say is, “prove ‘em wrong or die trying” seems to be my calling card.

23 years into this “mission impossible” and the ship sails on and the team keeps going. I look forward to telling you a bit more about the people on my team that help make Eyetopia possible every week, and continue to my "Life in Full Focus" crossover in the coming year. More fun eyewear, tons more fun projects and lots of laughs to come.

What do you attribute your business longevity to?

It was such a privilege to share space with so many terrific community leaders tonight. I was very humbled and proud to be honored once again as Loudoun’s Favorite Optician and Eyetopia, Inc. - The Eyewear Vault recognized as Loudoun’s favorite fashion accessories and Loudoun’s favorite Gifts.

I said tonight from the stage that while I have a great team around me at work, it is the community around us that make greatness possible.

Eyetopia and I could not accomplish anything significant without people like, Avis Renshaw of Mom's Apple Pie Company who was my date tonight and has stood shoulder to shoulder with me in support of small business rights in Leesburg, built countless community campaigns with me and always has my back, Jennifer Montgomery of Loudoun Hunger Relief who fights for the wellbeing of all and tirelessly works to ensure no child goes hungry in Loudoun, and she wears her with flair everywhere she goes, Stilson Greene of Stilson Greene Graphic Design & Illustration for supporting me not only as a client of mine, but by building out my annual marketing plans, creating incredible ads and graphics and literally keeping me on track when I can’t remember what ad goes where and when. Rusty Foster or Bow Tie Strategies the master behind the Tarara Summer Concert Series, who said yes when I need models for my DEI fashion campaign 2021.

Much love to my friend Sonny Swann of Climatic Heating and Cooling, Inc who supports this community with time, care and attention to detail and makes sure we stay cool at work and at home, shout-out to Alice Frazier and team BCT-The Community's Bank winning multiple categories tonight, they are the definition of “my flock” as Sonny likes to call it.
