Healing with Nanci Heart
Healing with Nanci Heart - Massage therapy and body work
Straight from Thailand, this herbal poultice/compress filled with naturally anti-inflammatory herbs like turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, and kaffir lime peel, wrapped in a muslin cloth. When steamed, the anti-inflammatory properties of the herbs open up and our bodies absorb them through the skin (or you can ingest it, inhale it, etc) It’s a simple, and powerful, way to help calm down the nervous system and muscles during a flare up. ❤️
Part of my preparation work before a session, I still myself and tune in to what this person and body will need.
I haven’t used one of these compresses in awhile but it came to me instantly that this was needed today at the beginning of our session. That delighted me to get it out!
I also checked in with her verbally and energetically. During a flare up, it’s so important to check in and listen. In one moment, ice may be cooling and settle the pain. In another, ice could aggravate and worsen symptoms. Pressure could be helpful,
or it can make things worse.
We move methodically, intentionally.
On the back I used lots of heat- hot stones, a heating camphor/arbica CBD cream, hot dry towel.
On the neck, the nerves were sensitive the opposite direction. I used a coconut based CBD cream to “cool off” the nerves that were firing off defensively.
The main goal wasn’t to get rid of the pain altogether. It was to see if we could live side-by-side with it. To calm it, provide boundaries for it to reside in without free rein to go wild in the body causing chaos. 😅
I had the cells following my hands like bugs following a light, or herding cattle, and gave them a place to be, to chill out.
This was a session being used in conjunction with her medical team; some massage love to get her through until her appt with her pain doctor.
Grateful to play a part in tending to this beautiful woman I admire and love!
“You know when you were a kid and you’d stand on your dad’s back?
I wonder if this is how that felt. It’s so good. So so good.”
Practicing new things today with ashiatsu. Strengthening muscles that aren’t used to being used this way yet.
The bittersweet glee and frustration of trying something new that you want to be good at and know everything about instantly, and knowing the only way to master it will be with practice and patience.
The Scout Falls trail is beautiful today!
I’ve lived much of life being afraid of money. The last couple years, I’ve been re-wiring my brain and body’s relationship with it to feel safer with it. More abundance, less scarcity. More trust, less fear.
Today I’ve spent time tending to it-
like any positive relationship needs in order to thrive.
As part of my journey, I’ve had a homework assignment to figure out the baseline number of: how much income do I need each month to survive, and how much do I need to live comfortably and thrive.
It has taken a month for me to get to this space to look at these numbers today- and being past the emotionally turbulent harsh thoughts that come with “winter” and the bleed of my moon cycle 😮💨😅.
I asked my partner John to be with me as I opened up my bank account. He was a comforting anchor. I went through and categorized each expense from the past month: “groceries”
“eating out”
“subscriptions”
etc
to figure out this number.
I am proud of setting this time aside in my calendar and DOING it!
Here’s to letting go of the old beliefs and habits,
and welcoming in the seeds of new around money and the role it plays in my world. 🪴
Are you on your own journey with this? I’d love to talk and hear about your goals and wins and frustrations and progression too.

ASHIATSU!!
Since the first time I heard of or saw ashiatsu (ashi=foot, atsu=pressure), I’ve wanted to learn and try it.
Today I experienced it!
I felt a thrill run through my belly as I held the overhead ribbons and pulled myself up onto the table to begin.
I looked out into the mirror to see my reflection and was surprised at how beautiful I looked, how it looked so.. *right* seeing myself like this. So natural.
Like coming home.
As if my soul has known this was for me even before I was born onto this earth.
Everything truly happens how, and when, it is supposed to. Heather was our incredibly gifted teacher and inspires me.
I’m THRILLED to continue learning and growing and adding this skill to my toolkit!

Came in with that pesky shoulder pain between her shoulder blade and spine. Left feelin’ pretty good with heart cup kisses, feeling nurtured and held with motherly care. 🥺🥹
I felt that post-vacation ‘meh’ feeling this morning walking out to my massage space. “I miss Hawaii! 😩 I’m not ready for real life again yet!”
I began setting up, going into auto mode.
Turning the heater on.
Listening to a meditation- preparing my mind, my energy, while preparing the space.
New sheets on the table.
The calm of routine and rhythm.
Pulling two cards from my Magical Journey deck by to help guide our session today. “ #45 mystic and peace.”
Turning inward and allowing myself to abide in a space that welcomes the sacred,
living as a mystic- an ordinary person who does ordinary things, who also experiences moments of profound union with Source/God/Universe.
I’m reminded.. how I love this work.
How I love this life.
How while I *loved* my vacation and time away,
I *love* my day-to-day reality as well.
I sink deeper into that and feel gratitude and joy.
I choose to see it.
And as I see it, it makes itself even more clearly known- how meant to be this all is.
There are beautiful places to be noticed around us where we are. I’m grateful when I can see them and dive into them. ❤️
