As we head into the Christmas Season and a New Year, I have been reflecting on the past year. I am floored with the amount of support and love I have received this year. Your support does not go unnoticed and I am so grateful for the new opportunities and the chance to nurture so many relationships with yall.

As we approach a fresh start I am welcoming to the opportunity of change and the chance to provide the best guest service possible! I am excited to implement some new features next year and step up my game!

Who says you can’t be blonde during the winter? 😉

Due to less sunlight during the winter months, I know that some like to darken their hair to help maintain the integrity of it!

But if you’re someone who likes to be blonde, here are a couple of tips to keeping your hair healthy and Lucious this winter!

*Adding a deep moisturizing mask into your routine can help keep your hair well you know - moisturized ;) (Ask me to add an Express Hydrating mask at your next appointment!)

*during the winter months, try limiting how often you are shampooing your hair! The more we shampoo, the more dry our hair can get. I recommend 2/3 times a week!

*using a leave in conditioner or treatment on wash days helps prevent your hair from becoming dry and brittle by sealing it in! I recommend Dream Cocktail coconut infused (which is super hydrating)!

Are you ready to change up your color for the warmer months? My guest had lavender hair previously but wanted to try a different color after it faded and Pink is such a great color for someone who loves to change it up!

I used to create this look! I did lighten her money piece but there was no other lightening involved because .hair.craft did such an amazing job before!

ATTENTION: To all my non-hair friends when you call a salon to make an appointment, how do you explain what you’re looking for? Whether it is a haircut or color?
As a hairstylist It’s hard for me to not use industry lingo when trying to book appointments and explain hair services.

What do you look for in a salon/stylist when you’re looking to get your hair done? Such as social media presence, website, online booking, ease of booking, etc.

I need all the ideas and advice anyone can give me. Looking to level up my business and level up myself as well. Thanks in advance for all your help!

How do you maintain your color at home?

I know you’ve heard this before but when you spend hundreds of dollars on your hair, you want your color to last!

Here are some tips to keep your hair looking healthy and vibrant!
1) Shampoo your hair in cool water! Hot water opens the cuticle which allows the color to fade faster. Keeping the cuticle closed by using cool water will extend the life of your color!
2) Use a dry shampoo to help soak up oils to avoid over shampooing your hair! I recommend shampooing your hair 2x a week. If you workout and sweat (like me 😜) Blow dry the sweat in and then use your dry shampoo. The more you wash your hair, the faster your hair fades.
3) Use a color safe shampoo without parabens and sulfates! These ingredients aren’t necessarily great for your hair and can strip the color. I recommend Hydrate Color Wellness to protect your color and hydrate it at the same time!

What’s something that you do, that you love doing?

I hear from clients all the time that there are stylists who will cut their hair that are scared to cut their hair short!
I am not one of those stylists haha. In fact, being able to cut hair short gives me so much joy! For this particular client, the long hair was becoming too much so we decided that a cute angled bob would do just the trick!

What is something that has surprised you in your life? One thing for me has been, CURLS!! The more I get to play with curls and the more I learn about curly hair, the more I LOVE curly hair.

I’ve been finding and playing with so many new products for my curly folx and it’s been such a fun change for me!

Styled using coil infusion soft stretch priming milk too add hydration to her curls and prime curls and then used the coil infusion give a boost styling and shaping gel cream for a non crunch hydrating style!

In 2016-2017, I spent some time in the great state of Mississippi where I taught in Regis owned salons, SmartStyle, Mastercuts and a couple of other brands. I taught mostly color theory, foul placements and cutting. It was during this time that I learned about curly hair. I hadn’t had a ton of experience with this texture - so I was definitely nervous to be an educator in a demographic that had a higher percentage of curly haired guests than what I had done before here in Utah. I learned so much in my short time in Mississippi about curly hair.

Fast forward several years - natural curly hair has gotten my excited about hair again. I’m in the process of diversifying my knowledge and learning everything I can about this wonderful texture.

I hold space to be able to learn, listen to my guests and deliver the best service I can for my curly guests. I’m truly grateful to my curly girls who have sat in my chair and allowed me to create!!

Hi lovelies! It’s been so long since I’ve been active on here and been engaging with everyone. To be honest, life has been very hard and lonely. I haven’t felt my best; emotionally, physically and mentally. A lot of things have taken a back seat and honestly, hair and my business has been one of them.

But then something happened.. after a harrowing few months of school, work and mostly stress - I took some time in the mountains and dove deep into my head and cleared some s**t out of it. I think I’m starting to have a clear picture of where I want my life to take me and I’m working on the courage and strength to get there!

I really love what I do and I am SOOO grateful for my guests who sit in my chair, my salon peeps and my family and friends. Here’s to starting over… again. (Which is ok to do btw)
