Marlyn performs each of her tasks from scheduling, through greeting,
applying color, shampooing & her lovely scalp massage.
Yes, she offers permanent waves and does a gorgeous perm (Certified Matrix Perm Artist through years).
No longer offers Smoothing Treatments.
No longer can perform thick/long/ curly hair blow outs.

Lighter- medium weight hair services are now her focus, with aging Spine care needs.

Summer hours are now in place.
Yesss there is heavy traffic.
Traffic is not a new problem.
This is the 4th year I will open earlier monday- thursday (on weeks I do not have Ava).
This is the 4th year I will look for mon-wed appts for those driving down from Milford area and go in early on Fridays for clients who live soo close to Fringe they can walk- ride their bike-plan early day and avoid gridlock traffic.

This fb page is my only online presence.

I do not want the sun to go down on today and yet it is fading fast.
A full day of reflection, celebration of 15 years, celebration of strength and tears….worry.. fears.. joys.. traumas that come with no warning or at suitable times.. a salon that has flexed with shared custody hours… a home that is so nice to come home to no matter what the days bring.
15 years seemed forever away when my life as a single mom was evident before Ava was 1 year old.. then we made it to age 2.
Every year has brought more love and learning to my life than all the 42 years prior could have!!
Above all that I am grateful for… I am grateful my sweet girl sees me as a “whole” Marlyn with common sense, budgeting, diy abilitity, the ability to ask for help when I/we need it.
Lord knows Ava has watched me carry on strong and organized, then crumble to tears over things so trivial yet possibly teachable moments in “raw and real”.
Thankful for much.
Wishing sooo much that I could go an entire week this relaxed, on my own terms.. feeling relaxed & cute…and know that swinging into fierce survival mode always does pass… no matter how crazy or expensive.
If you have loved me/us through the past 15 years.. your love has been felt and appreciated.

Today, June 1st, I celebrate the beautiful daughter that was my miracle at age 42.
Ava is 15, today.
She is thee reason Fringe Hair Studio was created.

Together, we celebrate 15 years as we look forward to her summer plans and to all the joy her heart can hold!

That Coconut oil, or any oil, is a hair moisturizer.
It is not.

Client arrived last week with slightly greasy hair 2-3 inches away from scalp and very very dry/ fuzzy last few inches of her lengths.

I was perplexed in doing her hair through yearsss and this new condition of her hair.

The tips read online regarding “oil” for moisturizing are not one-size-fits-all.

Know your hair type.
Know your daily hair needs, routines, and stay with the best prescribed Rx for your hair type.

I have heard it all and have seen it all through 37 years at my chair.

Moisture softens and conditions.
Protein strengthens.
Oil coats the hair strand and can cause greasy and unwashed appearance.

The City of Lewes is pleased to announce the Lewes Summer Concert Series for 2026. The rain location for all events EXCLUDING June 2 & June 26 will be at the Cape Henlopen High School. Concerts will be Tuesday Evenings from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM at Stango Park.

Changes to the schedule and any cancellations due to inclement weather will be posted on the City of Lewes page and sent out via email blast.

Enjoying a weekend of rest & recharge as we celebrate Ava’s 15th Birthday.
This morning our yard has been my sanctuary. It is cleaned up almost as nicely as I like it! Getting there!

Yes, taking Ava out of school early today and heading to My Sisters Fault-Milford with her bestie who is coming for the weekend.
Tomorrow, a sweet road trip!
Looking forward to all the joy my heart can hold… and more!!!

Downtown Milford Inc. has announced that they will offer a Laser Light Show at the end of the July 3 First Friday event in celebration of Independence Day. The show will be pet-friendly and less disruptive to those who have sensory issues.

Cindy did not want to wear her hair as dark as she does through winter yet she did not want look bronde or heavier than this with “summer” blonde highlights.

I found the perfect compromise.
