What does it mean when I say my gel polish is HEMA-free & TPO-free?

When I say this, it means I’m using products that are formulated to be safer and more gentle on your nails and skin.

HEMA is an ingredient normally used to help gel polish stick to your nail—but it’s also one of the top causes of nail allergies and irritation.

TPO is what helps the gel cure under the light—but it has raised health concerns and is even being phased out in some places.

Instead, these formulas use alternative ingredients that still allow the gel to properly bond to your nail and fully cure under the light—just with a lower risk of irritation.

So what does that mean for you?

I’m so excited to share that I will be offering gel manicures at A Cut Above in Upper Sandusky, Ohio!

I am a licensed nail technician and currently a cosmetology student at Salon Institute.

I will be specializing in gel manicures only, 145+ HEMA-free and TPO-free gel polish colors to choose from!

What is HEMA-free & TPO-free?
HEMA is a common ingredient in gel polish that helps it stick, but it can also cause irritation, sensitivity, and allergic reactions over time.

TPO is an ingredient that helps the gel cure under the light, but it has been linked to sensitivities and health concerns.

HEMA-free and TPO-free gel is a gentler option that reduces the risk of reactions while still giving you the same long-lasting, glossy results 🤍

Pricing:
Gel Manicure: $30 (includes nail prep, gel polish, and cuticle oil)
Gel Removal: $5
Hand Massage: $5
