What's missing 🤔 A book for straight, wavy and/or curly haired girls.

The book in the middle DREADS, is the book that made me fall in love with the spectrum of locks and lock wearers over 20 years ago. It features all types of people and hair.

At that time it wasn't as easy to find information as it is now, even for locking kinky coily hair.

Over the years more authors would write books as more women of color embraced locs as an alternative to other ways to wear their hair.

As you can see I've come to have a decent collection of books 😉

There's something about a book. Something friendly, and encouraging, and supportive even in today's digital age.

So when I decided to specialize in locking straight hair I went to Amazon to see what was on offer, of course 🙃

I didn't find a lot.

I thought that was strange considering straight hair locks and locking isn't new. Like I'm talking 1000s of years of history not new.

And the popularity of dreadlocks among women with straight hair seems to be growing.

But the need for more consumer/client focused books remains.

There is a lot of information on becoming a straight hair loctician. That's great👍

This book isn’t meant to compete with that 😉

I am writing something for my current (and future) clients. A sidekick, inspirational, helpful guide that can be supportive to them as these books have been to me ❤️
