Lash care reminder for my girls: please be careful with direct heat around your lash extensions. 🤍✨

This can happen when heat gets too close to the lashes, for example, lighting a cigarette, standing too close to an open flame, opening a hot oven and letting the heat hit your face, grills, stoves, or even very hot air from a blow dryer.

Lash extensions are very soft and delicate, but because they are synthetic fibers, direct high heat can singe, curl, shrink, or melt the tips. Instead of looking fluffy, wispy, and beautiful, the lashes can start looking stiff, twisted, clumpy, or “spider-like.” Once the extensions are burned, they cannot be repaired back into their original curl or shape, the safest solution is to gradually remove and replace the affected lashes during fills.

This photo is being shared with my client’s permission, and this is absolutely no shame toward her. She was so kind to allow me to use this as an educational example for my clients. 🤍

In her case, it may take a few refill appointments to fully remove all the burned extensions while still protecting the natural lashes underneath. My priority will always be lash health first.

A few tips to protect your lashes:

✨ Step back when opening the oven
✨ Be careful around grills, stoves, candles, and ci******es
✨ Avoid direct hot air from blow dryers
✨ Do not try to pull, cut, or fix burned extensions at home
✨ Book a professional fill/removal so the lashes can be safely corrected

Lash extensions are low-maintenance, but they still need gentle care. A little extra caution around heat can help keep them soft, fluffy, and beautiful for longer. 🤍
