Bodywork By Alec
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) with a passion for clinical bodywork. My professional missi Hi everyone!
I am really excited to be promoting my style of bodywork finally!! I have been a massage therapist since February of 2010. I started out my career with schooling in Melbourne Beach Florida. Upon finishing my schooling I worked as an intern with the Washington Nationals baseball team. This was just the first taste of sports medicine for me, but it ignited a passion for hands on pain relief. After moving back to New Hampshire I started working for the Omni Mount Washington Hotel. After working as a therapist on the floor for a few years. I was offered the job of lead therapist, a great opportunity to learn more about the business. While honing my craft of relaxation technique and spa therapy, I have always been studying sports therapy and injury relief techniques. After completing my DOMP program I now have the tools to tackle a lot of Myo-Skeletal pain and dysfunction.
Neurological Distraction — Low Trap
One of the concepts I’ve learned from Chuck Duff’s approach to bodywork is the use of neurological distraction to change how the nervous system responds to a sensitive or restricted area.
Here I’m using vibration over the lower trapezius while working with the client in side-lying. The goal isn’t simply to “loosen the muscle,” but to introduce a different sensory input while working with the tissue and movement.
Sometimes changing the input to the nervous system can make it easier to work with an area that doesn’t respond well to traditional pressure alone.
This is one of the tools I like incorporating into my trigger point work when appropriate.

Building this practice day by day and I appreciate you all!
Glute work isn’t always about pushing harder.
In this technique, I’m combining forearm compression with contract-relax to work the glutes while incorporating active movement.
The client contracts the muscle, relaxes, and then I repeat the compression before moving into adduction. This gives me a way to combine hands-on tissue work with active mobility rather than simply holding a passive stretch.
This is one of the ways I like to approach restricted movement and stubborn areas of tension.
If your glutes always feel tight no matter how much you stretch them, sometimes the answer isn’t just more stretching.
Would you receive this shoulder treatment that’s pretending to be a neck treatment? 🤓
If you wake up already stiff. That's not just "getting older"
