What keeps a person chasing a dream when life seems to offer nothing but obstacles? Steve Harvey's journey is a powerful example of how determination can help someone overcome even the toughest circumstances.

Long before he became a famous comedian, television host, bestselling author, and one of America's most recognizable entertainers, Harvey faced years of uncertainty and hardship. In the late 1980s, he decided to pursue a career in stand-up comedy, knowing it would be a difficult path. Success did not come quickly, and during that time, he experienced financial struggles that left him without a permanent place to live.

For nearly three years, Harvey reportedly lived in his 1976 Ford Tempo while traveling from one comedy performance to another. Despite the challenges, he refused to abandon his dream. Every day became a lesson in survival as he found practical ways to continue moving forward. He relied on hotel restrooms, gas stations, and other public facilities to wash up and prepare himself before performing. Although life was far from comfortable, he remained focused on building a career in comedy.

Harvey has often spoken about one of the most emotional moments of that period. He recalled sitting alone in a hotel bathroom, overwhelmed by his circumstances. As he cried, he prayed for an opportunity to change his life. During that difficult moment, he made a personal promise that if he ever achieved success, he would openly share where he believed his strength and hope had come from.

His persistence eventually brought results. In 1993, Harvey received a major career breakthrough when he became the host of Showtime at the Apollo. The opportunity introduced him to a much larger audience and opened the door to many more roles in television and entertainment. Over the years, he built an impressive career as a stand-up comedian, television presenter, producer, actor, author, and radio personality, becoming an inspiration to millions around the world.

Steve Harvey's story is about much more than fame or success. It highlights the importance of believing in yourself even when circumstances seem impossible. His journey shows that setbacks do not have to determine a person's future and that persistence, resilience, and hope can eventually lead to life-changing opportunities. Today, his experiences continue to encourage people to keep working toward their goals, no matter how difficult the road may seem.

Three firefighters killed over the weekend in a wildfire along the Colorado-Utah border were trying to shield themselves from flames by deploying tent-like shelters when they were overcome, authorities said.

The three victims were assigned to a Helitack crew that can be dropped into remote areas by helicopters and whose mission is to prevent new fires from growing into out-of-control blazes. But it can be extremely dangerous, often taking place in areas where fires are rapidly expanding. https://abc7.la/CXSyGD
