Last week a few of the downtown businesses posted about the petition and we feel like it is important that everyone is informed about what this petition is trying to do. Everyone please be aware of what you are about to sign and how negatively it will affect our downtown plans.

DO NOT SIGN THE PETITION.

Downtown Businesses support the approved downtown plan. The “Central Park Plan” IS NOT A PLAN. Period. It is a rendering – a picture. There is no financing for this plan and no hotel developer willing to build a Westside hotel. The “Central Park Plan” has no funding.

The group of people who are paying the signature gatherers to collect signatures to petition against the current approved plan are misleading the citizens (taxpayers!) of this town. Petitioners are simply saying things like "Save our Central Park!" - "Sign if you want more parking downtown!". These are misleading statements – lies.

The approved plan has sufficient parking and the group that is opposing this plan has admitted that! The truth is this – the petition will not build the plan that is being peddled by this group. It will simply halt progress on the approved plan and will restart the entire process costing us (the taxpayers) MILLIONS of dollars.

The approved plan was a compromise based on local community outreach programs including workshops and surveys.

The leader of the initiative to petition the approved plan owns The Independent newspaper. The paper is being used to mislead the public which is absolutely unacceptable.

We urge you to refrain from signing the petition. If you have signed and would like to get your signature removed from the initiative please follow this link. http://bit.ly/2KoOBbi

It is time to move forward and do what’s best for our entire community – not just one small group’s special interests. We don’t want more countless years of ugly, empty space in the core of our city.

Congratulations to Mark Wise on his retirement! After over 20 years of service Mark has retired from the hair industry. As a result Anita's Salon has gone under new ownership and will no longer be selling wigs because of this change. We're very sorry if this causes any inconvenience and feel free to contact us on the Anita's Salon page if you have any further questions. Happy Retirement Mark! You will be very missed!!!
