I see it all the time. Skin that is

• over-exfoliated
• inflamed
• and functioning with a compromised barrier

When your barrier isn’t intact, your skin can’t regulate oil, bacteria, or heal properly.
So breakouts linger… or keep coming back.

My approach to clearing skin is different.

I focus on:
• calming inflammation first
• supporting the skin barrier
• clearing congestion in a way your skin can tolerate

No stripping.
No aggressive cycles.
No chasing quick fixes that backfire later.

Because clear skin isn’t created by doing more.
It’s created by doing the right things consistently and supporting your skin.

Barrier Repair > Aggressive Treatments

Stripping and over-exfoliating can create temporary improvement but often at the expense of long-term skin health.

Most chronic skin concerns are fueled by inflammation and barrier disruption.

When the barrier is weak:
Breakouts persist.
Redness lingers.
Sensitivity increases.

Instead of pushing skin harder, I focus on restoring function first.

✔️Lower inflammation.
✔️Rebuild the barrier.
✔️Then layer in correction.

Healthy skin responds better, heals faster, and maintains results longer.

Strength over stripping. Always. 🫶

Acne is brutal because:
* It’s hormonal.
* It’s compliance-based.
* It’s lifestyle-influenced.
* It’s inconsistent.
* It’s slow to heal.
AND
* I can’t stop you from picking.
* I can’t control your stress.
* I can’t throw away your pore-clogging products.
* I can’t make you consistent.
* I can’t override your hormones.

But I absolutely can help you. This is a collaborative process. I will give you the roadmap. You have to walk it. 🫶

If your skin is experiencing:
• tightness but excess oil
• stinging or sensitivity to products
• redness, inflammation, or flare-ups
• breakouts that don’t improve with actives

Your skin barrier may be compromised.

Your barrier’s role is to:
✨ hold moisture in
✨ keep irritants out
✨ support skin function

When it’s weakened, the skin stays in a reactive state that making is acne harder to clear and sensitivity harder to manage.

This is why I focus on a barrier-first approach to acne and skin correction:
• gentle, non-stripping cleansing
• microbiome-supportive hydration
• calming support before aggressive treatments

When the barrier is restored, the skin can finally regulate, repair, and clear.

If your skin feels “angry,” it’s not failing — it’s communicating.

Most acne doesn’t need stronger products.
It needs balancing ones.

One of the biggest mistakes I see especially with adult and hormonal acne is over-treating skin that’s already inflamed and barrier-compromised.

When the barrier is disrupted:
• inflammation increases
• breakouts linger longer
• products stop working
• skin becomes reactive and unpredictable

This is why random TikTok routines and trend-driven products often make acne worse, not better.

As a Face Reality Certified Acne Expert, my approach is different:
– barrier-first
– acne-safe formulations
– inflammation awareness
– consistency over intensity

Clear skin happens when the skin feels supported, not attacked.

This is also why I now offer virtual acne guidance + personalized routines for clients who want expert direction without in-person appointments.

Education + intention > guesswork.

If you’re tired of experimenting and ready for clarity, this is the work I do.

The 3 biggest acne mistakes I see:
1️⃣ Stripping your barrier with harsh actives
2️⃣ Using products that clog your pores
3️⃣ Trying to DIY your routine instead of following a plan

Clear skin isn’t complicated—it’s guided.

How to know if your products are making your acne worse:

✔️ New bumps in places you never break out
✔️ Persistent tiny bumps that never heal
✔️ Stinging or burning with basic steps
✔️ Oily AND flaky skin at the same time
✔️ Congestion that sits under the surface for weeks
✔️ New whiteheads after switching moisturizers
✔️ Your skin gets worse after “deep hydration” products

Most people don’t have “stubborn acne.”
They have the wrong routine.

✨ Acne Tip of the Week:
Consistency clears acne — not intensity.

Instead of jumping between products or trying to scrub your acne away, focus on:

💧 Hydrating your barrier (even oily skin needs it)
🧴 A simple, supportive routine
🌿 Corrective exfoliation
🌙 Calming, anti-inflammatory ingredients
🗓️ Bi-weekly acne treatments to stay on track

Your skin doesn’t need more force, it needs clarity, balance, + guidance.

If you’re struggling with breakouts and want a calmer, more personalized approach, my Acne Treatments + Clear Skin Plans are designed to support your skin through every phase.

Balance. Heal. Glow.

It’s SO important to start with a clean slate when you’re trying to clear acne.
If your skincare or hair care products contain pore clogging ingredients — even the ‘clean’ or ‘natural’ ones — you slow your progress and get stuck in the clear… clog… clear… clog cycle.

And yes… even using pore-clogging ingredients once in a while can still clog your pores.

If you’re serious about clearing your skin, the first step is eliminating pore-clogging products completely.
Your skin can’t heal if we keep re-introducing the things that inflame it.

Short answer: No — beef tallow is not acne-safe.

Beef tallow is made of fatty acids that are known pore-cloggers:
• Palmitic acid
• Stearic acid
• Oleic acid
• Myristic acid

This combination leads to congestion, whiteheads, bumps, and cystic flare-ups, especially around the chin, jawline, cheeks, and forehead.

❌ “It mimics your natural sebum” is a myth

Human sebum =
✔️ 41% squalene
✔️ 16% wax esters
❌ very little palmitic or stearic acid

Beef tallow has the exact opposite lipid profile and does not behave like your skin’s natural oils.

If you’re acne-prone, stick with non-comedogenic, skin-compatible lipids that actually support healing — not tallow.

Hormones may influence acne,
but the wrong routine inflames it, feeds it, and keeps it chronic.

When we fix the routine → the skin calms.
When the skin calms → breakouts become predictable and manageable.
When that happens → “hormonal acne” isn’t nearly as hormonal as it seemed.
