Since I had a few people ask what my symptoms were, I thought I’d share a little more about my story

Bald is beautiful, it’s just not for me 🫶🏼

My hair started falling out two weeks after my first chemo (induction chemo). Because it didn’t start falling out right away, I was delusional enough to think I was in the clear. Cold capping wasn’t an option so the reality was that my hair was going to fall out.

One of my night nurses had came in and asked if I needed anything before my shower/bedtime. I had asked her to bring scissors so that I could trim my hair, she looked so sad, in that moment I think it hit us both. I couldn’t hold onto it anymore.

My husband started to trim my hair, but it kept coming out in clumps; in the hairbrush and in his hands. There wasn’t anything anyone could do anymore and so I told him to grab his clippers and shave my entire head.

I hopped in the shower, sat on my little stool and bawled my eyes out.

Skip to present day, I’m so beyond grateful to even be able to say “one year later”

My hair has grown back and I’m one of the lucky ones to be able to experience the chemo curl 👩🏻‍🦱
