After months of a permanent red violet color for her perfect wedding hair, wanted to switch it up for something more vibrant 😈

The first appointment we tried overlaying everything with a purple gloss, but it wasn’t quite as bright as we’d hoped.
So next appointment we did a heavy foil to lift out a lot of old color and then glossed with purple again for this perfectly vivid violet 💜

An ombré is a perfect way to try a vivid color with less commitment!

You still have a natural color around your face so it feels more “you.”
How high the color goes up the hair can determine how dramatic or subtle it is.
If you pull it up you can mostly disguise it.
You won’t have any harsh demarcation lines as your hair grows.
And if you want to go back to natural you can just chop those ends instead of having to remove the vivid and recolor the hair!

It’s a great, lower maintenance way to play around with fun color 🩷

When you wait years and finally make the jump into vivid hair 😈

This was a long process going from many layers of dark permanent color to purple with a black root melt for grey coverage.
I started with a CPR treatment to help break up some of old color, followed by a platinum card (putting every piece of hair in a foil with lightener). Then I covered the natural regrowth with black melted down fading into the final violet gloss.

Corrective vivid projects aren’t quick or easy but they’re definitely worth the wait! 💜
