The big engagement dates each year “usually” are:

New Years ✨
Valentines Day 💌

And we are officially 1️⃣0️⃣ days away from Valentine’s Day! Whether you believe it’s a Hallmark holiday or a day to celebrate the love you share with those you love ❤️ We say, celebrate however you feel like it!! 🤭

Obviously you can get engaged outside these dates but a majority does happen during these events which means from January to March we receive an influx ⬆️ of inquiries for hair and makeup services for engagement photos 📷

So if you’re recently engage, we want you to do the following:

I have always worked “behind the scenes” as the professional getting everyone beautified for these big days. However, experiencing it also as a bridesmaid was so different yet special 💫

To bring my baby SIL vision to life, we opted for a glowy vibe from airbrush and highlighting her décolletage to adding some clip ins for a full, long lasting, hairstyle 💗

To me, a clean home / work area means a focused mind. It’s my own little self care for my mental health 🧠 but as a busy parents of two boys our house can get chaotic 🤪 so today I’ve:

👀 Skin under the eyes is thinner than any other skin on your face.
👀 First place where you’ll see wrinkles on your face.
👀 Most moisturizers are NOT safe to use around the eyes.
👀 Eye creams are preventative, the earlier you use it the better!

Personally I use aloe cucumber eye gel because I have hereditary dark circles and it’s been amazing. Has lightened them, hydrated my skin due to dry a$$ Colorado weather, and allows me to wear less makeup. Yesssss 🙌🏼

Skincare 101: Cleansers 🧼

Working with our clients at the suite we share a lot of tips and tricks on skincare like consistency is key 🔑

One huge tip for clients, especially those receiving makeup services, is to cleanse thoroughly before going to bed! 😴

Fun fact: 1 night of sleeping in makeup can age you 2yrs! That’s premature aging PLUS damaging your skin barrier 😳

Most of you know that for long term skin care we love like obsessed 😍 and they have three amazing cleansers that we love ❤️:

❣️ Lynchee Willow for when you need a DEEP and restorative cleanse. Great for oily or break out prone skin.
❣️ Apricot & Mango creamy, removes makeup and dirt without stripping the skin. Great for dry, sensitive skin.
❣️ Orange You Jelly gentle, everyday, balancing cleanser for all skin types.

MY personal favorite is the Apricot & Mango 🥭 cleanser because Colorado has made by skin sooooo dry 😬

Remember, even if you didn’t wear makeup for the day, you still need to cleanse your skin before hitting the sheets. Which reminds me, I don’t know who needs to hear this BUT wash those pillow covers! 😂

Let’s Talk Airbrush 💨

I’ve been chatting with a few 2024 brides and this subject has come up a lot. So we want to share some quick FAQs 🤗

❣️ Airbrush is a style of foundation application
❣️ Can be used to contour and add blush also
❣️ Will show dryness and texture more (especially in dry weather like Colorado 😬)
❣️ Transfer can still happen even with a “water resistant” foundation
❣️ If you’re more oily or tend to sweat that can break up the make up
❣️❣️ Skin care/prep is EVERYTHING!!

As an artist, I don’t have a preferred method because we can achieve a flawless look with either application (hence why there’s no up charge for our brides) 😉

What I stress to our potential brides is that skincare will be thee MOST important step in having a flawless bridal look 👀

Great skin = Great makeup 💄
