It's part of my vision to expand our educational offerings with in-person courses and utilize the space for recording online courses. Additionally, I aspire to host gatherings for Lash artists in the future, enhancing and nurturing our community. 🤭🌸

We had a successful weekend at LashCon!

List of things we did differently than the last 2 years:

It was our 3rd year at and we are still growing and learning from the experience! Tiring but worth it! I couldn’t have done it without my team🥹

I always feel refreshed after this event. Seeing all the brands and Lash Artists and Business Owners mingling and networking in one space, it’s super motivating and inspirational. If you haven’t been toLashCon yet, I highly recommend it next year. Not just to shop and learn, but to build relationships with fellow lash artists and gain any lost momentum you’ve lost in your lash business.

Being great at fan making and having great retention is just a portion of what it takes to be an amazing Lash Artist.

Consider customizing and creating sets that enhances their natural beauty or creates an illusion of their dream eye shape or favorite lash strip they were daily.

As a beauty provider, we have to analyze our clients eyes and ask questions to meet their desired look.

Not a just a tech, you’re an artist too.

I wish I knew this early in my lash career. Who told me it was okay to do $100fs and $50 fills. 🥲

Lets end the 50% of full set price for fill price. We gotta admit that fills can sometimes take 2/3 of a full set’s time, so why should we charge or be paid less?

This pricing strategy is not too late to implement in your new or seasoned beauty business. You dont need a $75 hourly minimum like the samples i provides but whatever $$ you choose, stick with it and be consistent with the services.

There’s cushion added to the hourly so youre confident the supply expenses are not dipping out from your hourly minimum.

Know your time, know your money, know your worth.

“The best is yet to come”

In honor of graduation season.

Fun fact - I originally majored in BioChem and I did poorly in my Science classes so my dream of becoming a Gynecologist was cut short.

I found interest in learning more about working with kids and families so I double majored in Child Development and Family Life Education. I thought I would either be a school teacher, own a day care center, or work in marriage family counseling but life had other plans for me.

The best came from a dark time in my early 20’s. Lashing literally gave me opportunities I never thought I could experience or have. In 4 years, lashing changed my life drastically compared to the 4 years in college getting a degree. Not to say I regret college, I still enjoyed it very much.

A reminder is if youre lost or stuck in a place where you think nothing is gonna get better, you have to take a risk and go with that gut feeling. Get comfortable at being uncomfortable then you will see change and growth in yourself and your mindset.

Top 10 “failures” as a beginner lash artist

I dont regret these “fails” at all. I love how much I documented my entire lash journey. I can and will share more of these fails and wins with you 👏🏻

Whats one major fail of yours when you first started lashing?😅

The first and last time I lashed him😆

In 2018, I went to Phoenix AZ for my first lash class. I begged my husband to let me lash him right when i got home from my 2 hour drive, i was not tired.

I was so eager to get my hands dirty and he was so nervous to let me lash him.

Who would trust someone who just learned how to apply lashes with 2 sharp straight tweezers, on a futon couch, sitting on a low stool, and just lighting from the ceiling fan?!

My husband has anxiety so he gave me 30 minutes to lash him. I placed 10 lashes on one eye in 30 minutes. WOOHOO’ 🥳 he was my first live model since the class only practiced with a mannequin head. I did a removal afterwards.

I was not discouraged, I felt a overwhelming feeling of motivation to progress and get better since that night.
30 min of lashing feels like 10 minutes when you’re beginning because of how much focus you have on the results, time goes by faster. 💪🏻

Falsies vs Lash Extentions.
If you like wearing lashes, lets compare the time and money spent on falsies vs lash extensions.

This is hypothetical, for those that wear lashes daily. I went further and added the low to mid to high ranges spent on lash artists of all levels.

Now this is where you can see the pattern and do the math yourself if you are curious on your hours invested and lash budget. The times would have to be adjusted based on your artist’s speed. retention, and your natural lash cycle/growth.

Summary :
• time is money, money is freedom
• you spend more hours applying falsies and only save a couple hundred $$
• investing in lash extensions can save you so much hours
•an expert/seasoned lash artist charges more per appointment but saves you more time.
•really great lash artists guarantees amazing lash retention and sees you every 2.5- 3 weeks, so less hours spent on a lash bed.

❌not saying beginner artists cant have good retention but they do spend more time on your lash sets because they’re still learning the skill.
❌not saying expensive lash service prices m equal better lash artist or retention

✅just saying if youre an expert artist that gives bomb retention, you need to raise your prices
✅just saying if you think you’re spending too much money on lash extensions, you’re not
✅just saying if you haven’t tried lash extensions, you should.
