Alberto Vazquez Massage Therapy

I am a professional massage therapist based in Los Angeles and certified with California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC # 46987). I was trained at Institute of Professional Practical Therapy (IPPT now known as SOCHI) in North Hollywood, CA and at International Training Massage school (ITM) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. At IPPT, I was trained in protocols for medical massage (helpful for chronic stress, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other ailments) as well as relaxation protocols. In Thailand I was trained in Northern Style Traditional Thai Massage. I developed a passion for massage therapy, not knowingly, at a very young age. When I was seven years old my mother took me to the backroom of a barbershop to a “sobador” (roughly translated into “the person who heals with their hands”). I remember that after a painful session my twisted ankle was 95% healed. My fascination with healing touch began then, when I couldn’t believe that this man healed me with only his hands. As I got older I began to learn about massage therapy and realized that this is an ancient healing practice that has been used across different cultures and learned that it does not have to be painful like my first experience. After obtaining my training, I traveled across the globe to nine different countries, where I also observed the importance of massage therapy. For example, in Ethiopia I observed women using their hands to soothe a stressed child, in Thailand I received massages from people who had learned the skill from their grandparents, and in Indonesia I saw the hostel massage therapist providing therapy to the domestic worker and construction workers. I am dedicated at providing therapy to people who experience physical and/or emotional pain, people with injuries, and to those who want to self-care and relax. Working as a team with the client, I will provide guidance in choosing the best treatment modality for individualized and optimal results.
