A lot of people see a haircut.
We see first haircuts, job interviews, graduations, weddings, tough conversations, big celebrations, and families that have been coming through our doors for years.
We've watched kids grow up in these chairs. Some of our clients now bring in their own children.
Ten years later, we're still doing what we love: serving our community one haircut at a time.

I've been thinking a lot about the accusations against Kenneth Mejia.
We met Kenneth about ten years ago when he was running for City Council. He didn't win, but that didn't stop him. He kept showing up. He kept doing the work. He was a regular at our barbershop for years, right up until the pandemic.
What impressed me most about Kenneth was his ability to make government understandable. Before him, city budgets felt like something hidden behind closed doors. Then suddenly there were graphs, websites, billboards, and public presentations that broke everything down into plain English. No political sales pitch. No partisan talking points. Just numbers, facts, and questions that made people think.
He showed us where our money was going. He showed us who was getting paid. He showed us which neighborhoods and programs were being overlooked. Whether people agreed with him or not, he pulled back the curtain on things most of us never got to see.
The accusations against him are disturbing. If they're true, then that would be a side of Kenneth that not even his barber knew. But I also can't ignore the years of interactions we had with him and the work I watched him do for the city.
What I know for certain is that Kenneth changed the way a lot of ordinary people look at local government. He made city finances something regular people could understand, and that's a rare thing.
Against the grain since day one. Walk in looking wrecked, walk out looking dangerous. Real barbers. Real neighborhood. No fake hype.
10 years ago we opened our doors with a vision, some clippers, and a lot of faith. Since then we’ve watched kids grow up in our chairs, built friendships that became family, and survived every challenge this city could throw at small businesses.
Thank you to every client, barber, supporter, friend, and family member who helped keep HairFreek alive all these years. Every haircut, every referral, every repost, every conversation in the shop mattered more than you know.
We’re still here. Still grinding. Still creating. Still part of the community. Thank you for rocking with us through all 10 years.
Dare to be transformed!
