💔 Fyodor Dostoevsky
“If you feel pain, you're alive. If you feel other people's pain, you're a human being.”
Dostoevsky draws a line between existence and compassion. Feeling your own pain confirms your humanity; feeling others’ pain confirms your depth. Empathy is the highest form of strength—it connects us, softens us, and makes us truly human.

“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.” — Epictetus

Riches aren't about what you own — they're about what you can live without.

Epictetus reminds us:
You can own the world and still feel empty.
Because true poverty is a restless mind.
Always needing more. Always chasing.

But the man who has mastered his desires?
He’s untouchable.
Calm. Free. Powerful.

This is the Stoic approach:
Don’t inflate your lifestyle.
Shrink your wants.
And in doing so — become richer than kings.

👉 The Stoic Path teaches this kind of inner wealth — not just how to live with less, but how to need less.
If you're ready to escape the endless chase and build peace instead, start here:

Stephen King is rewriting Bangor’s story, pledging $3 M to renovate the public library that fueled his early imagination…

In 2013 Stephen and Tabitha King offered a $3 million challenge grant to the Bangor Public Library, covering a third of a planned $9 million overhaul.

King called the library a “second home” from his childhood, explaining why he keeps supporting local institutions.

Philanthropy News Digest said the grant would modernize technology, repair the 1912 building’s stonework and expand programs.

Community matching funds soon followed, and restoration work began in phases.

For Bangor’s most famous storyteller, investing in the library ensures the next generation can turn its own pages.

🇳🇱 In the Netherlands, bricks are learning to breathe.

A green-tech innovation is transforming ordinary buildings into living walls — by designing bricks that invite moss to grow directly on their surface.

These moss-friendly bricks require no soil, no maintenance — just rain and wind.
And what they offer in return is remarkable:

🌱 Purify urban air
🌡️ Cool buildings and streets by up to 7°C
🌍 Capture and store CO₂ naturally

In the city of Leiden, schools and bus stops are being cloaked in moss — turning everyday walls into air-cleaning, climate-cooling ecosystems.

This isn’t just decoration. It’s a defense against urban heat and pollution.
A quiet, green revolution is rising — brick by brick.
