Once you have your skincare foundation down, you can possibly add exfoliation and a retinoid gently over time. I recommend adding a gentle chemical exfoliant like as azelaic or mandelic acid, one to two nights a week and then if your skin tolerates that well you can add on an extra night and possibly every night overtime. Once your skin has become well conditioned to exfoliation you can potentially add in a retinoid one to two nights a week skipping your exfoliant on nights you're using your retinoid. Depending on the person, you could eventually graduate to doing your exfoliant and your retinoid on alternating nights throughout the week.
