When Ta-Ta Towels started, I didn’t have a warehouse, a team, or a roadmap. I had a tiny apartment, a kitchen floor, a borrowed sewing machine, and an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.
My cutting table was my kitchen floor, and I learned how to sew as I went. Every shipping address was hand-typed from that tiny living room, and after going viral, the thought was, “How am I supposed to fulfill 30,000 orders when I only have 30 towels made?” 😅
There were plenty of late nights, tears of excitement, moments of doubt, and a lot of figuring things out along the way. I pulled in my family to help, and my dad even fulfilled orders from a friend’s warehouse in the Arts District when my apartment could no longer hold all the towels. 🗣️to Janine Jarman for lending a helping hand (and warehouse) when I really needed it. I am forever grateful for you & thank you for being a sweet part of my journey.
Through all of it, there was so much hope and excitement, and a feeling that maybe this little idea could make life a little more comfortable for women. That’s what kept everything moving forward.
If you’re sitting in your own little room working on something that matters to you, keep going, sister.

8 years ago today, I filmed Shark Tank. 🦈💗
When I got home that night, I opened my Notes app and wrote this to myself while I was still trying to process everything that had happened.
I’ve never shared this publicly before (unless you count my therapist 😂💁🏼♀️), but in honor of the anniversary, it felt like the right time.
“Today was the day... I DID IT!! 🙌🏻💗
I got to walk through the doors on Shark Tank!
As I sit outside talking to my sister about how Shark Tank went (it went GREAT and I got a deal with Lori!! 💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️💃💃💗) anyways, back to the point...
As I sit here overwhelmed with every emotion running through my body from this grueling day, I looked up at my sister and asked, ‘Did my life just change today?’ But then I corrected myself...
I changed my life when I made those hard decisions to go down a scary unknown road alone. I realized that today is my reward for something I decided a long time ago. Today I JUMPED!
Lessons learned:
Never give up 💪🏼
Faith will get you through everything 🙏🏼🙌🏽💗
Never back down in what you believe in.
Stand up for yourself.
