🫧 Pokémon Hair Edition — Seaking 🫧

Ohhhh you know… Just over here still obsessing over this hair transformation 😍 It’s not super common for me to have creative freedom with the haircut too, but Adia was open to my suggestions. I love the shape I gave them ✨ I think it’s super flattering and goes with the color I did so well 🥰 Not to toot my own horn or anything 🎺😉

Would you ever give your hairstylist creative freedom? I think that’s a dream come true for many, but I can’t speak for all hairstylists… I do think there are some out there that would actually be terrified to not have a general direction of what to do with someone’s hair 😅

Is it purple, is it blue, or is it grey? 🤭🩶 Do we still like seeing just regular ole hair photos, or only hair reels these days? Please tell me cause I’ve been struggling to post the last few days 😮‍💨

🌈🌈 RAINBOW P R I S M ✨💫 being given creative freedom is a beautiful thing 🥲 shoutout to for always trusting in my skills 🫶🏼 I’ve been hoarding this hair in my photos for monthsssss and months and months! I’m not even going to say how long it’s been 🫣 but it is now finally time to let it all go. I’m posting everything and not caring if it’s the “right” time anymore… NOW is the right time 🤗

There’s not many hair techniques I love more than the prism technique, so any time I get to do it, it’s an automatic favorite in my book 📖💖 It’s deceiving unless you see the underneath, but this technique is typically only done on the top “mohawk” section of hair. So I like to do a color that compliments with our prism colors well or ask my client what their favorite color is. In this case, we did a purple/blue colormelt on one side and a blue/purple colormelt on the other side 🥰

I also want to mention that I almost always do a haircut on all my hair color clients, for those wondering. It’s not absolutely mandatory, but I like to suggest it if we are lightening or you haven’t had a cut in awhile. So yeah, I did this haircut and I had to mention it cause I think it looks SO DAMN GOOD on her and I have to brag 😍 and proves that the prism technique can also look amazing on shorter hair 💁🏼‍♀️

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐱 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐞𝐚 🧋💜💚 By now, I’ve come to know well enough to know that if there’s ever an opportunity to pick a color for something, it’s going to be purple. I’m not fully convinced their entire everything isn’t purple 😂 but hey, I’m here for it 🙌🏼💜

Loveeeee me a good side-shaved, disconnected mullet 🤩 Everyone knows this lol. This hairstyle looks good for LITERALLY any hair type/texture, but I have a personal attachment to the natural texture of Rachael’s hair with this haircut/style. Their hair just styles itself, it’s so effortless ✨

𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐊𝐢𝐝 🍉 First she’s 𝖘𝖔𝖚𝖗, then she’s 𝓼𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓽. Who am I kidding!? Carson is always sweet 🥰 I always look forward to our hair appointments 🩷💚 She’s my “can talk about anything, might possibly turn into a therapy session, emo music loving” client 🤭 and those clients are the best 🫶🏼

𝗠 𝗔 𝗜 𝗡 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬 💚🤎🩶
asked me to come to to work with them! That was just a little over 2 months ago and it was really a small dream come true to work with them 🥲 Unfortunately, you’ll never get to see the video we did because some of the footage was corrupted 🫠 So they asked me if I’d come back and do another shoot with them next month 🥹

So now I can share and post all the hair photos I got of my wonderful client / model that day! I was mostly inspired by a character in one of my favorite video games, Alisaie (Final Fantasy XIV) 💖 and that’s where my idea initially took off. I didn’t want to do just silver though, so my idea was to use the semi’s to create a muted, neutral, earthy-toned color with a bit of an anime-themed cut and style. (Okay, and yeah, maybe a little Alice Cullen vibe thrown in the mix too 😉) I didn’t really focus on getting much content for myself that day, so I asked if she would like to come to the salon I work at a few days later for a free shampoo/style and then drive to Little Tokyo downtown with me to get some sweet backdrop options… Who would say no to that? 🤪

I also decided to gift her the earrings she’s wearing… It seemed to match her vibe and wardrobe so well. (The necklace she’s wearing in the photos was hers and the earrings were mine, but I swear they look like a match lol) A small little gift for being my model 🫶🏼

As much as I used to complain about the wind ruining so many of my hair photos, I found myself missing it when it came time to recreating autumn inspired hair in Los Angeles… a place where autumn doesn’t really happen the way it does in Ohio 😅
