My favorite “never forget ever” moment: meeting the Queen, Danessa Myricks Danessa Myricks

A true legend who, in a few words, delivered divine guidance on my core beliefs and trust in the direction I want to take Cōpḍī.

Her words are still ringing: “This is Sephora-coded. You need to apply to the accelerator.” And when I shared the revenue requirement to enter, she reminded me that it “is not a lot of money”…. it’s really just proof of concept.

Being an entrepreneur and business owner is such a divine journey, as much as it is a mirror and reflection of our core values, limiting beliefs, and the work of breaking through the self-imposed beliefs that keep us small.

Danessa, being in your presence was a reminder that we create the energy and cultivate momentum. And it truly starts within us.

So many incredible women, founders, business owners and speakers all in one place. I met so many amazing people, had so many conversations about Cōpḍī and of course had to pull out our products a few times 😂

And the speakers!! Wowwww. You should see my notes. So many things I’m taking away with me as I continue building Cōpḍī (choh-pree / co-pree)

Getting to experience it all with my sister Hamida and my friend Aalia made the weekend even more special. We left feeling so inspired!

Such a special evening celebrating the launch of KINDIA, hosted by Thirteen Lune in LA.

Our co-founder Afsheen joined founder Dharni and an incredible group of women to celebrate KINDIA’s newest launch, including their new gua sha + pimple patch case, personalized with complimentary engraving at the event.

There was something especially meaningful about celebrating alongside fellow Kenyan-born founders and connecting through beauty, entrepreneurship, and community.
