Really excited for this afternoon class, called Benefits of Mindful Awareness in Body-Oriented Therapy (MABT). Course description:

MABT combines manual techniques, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to develop interoceptive awareness – the ability to interpret and process sensory information in the body. MABT can benefit individuals with chronic physical and mental health conditions, trauma, substance abuse, or those who often experience distressing bodily disconnection. Together, we will delve into the core MABT principles for enhancing body awareness and coping skills. As part of this session, the MTF Gold Case Report Winner will present, and we will discuss related research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Vanderbilt University, among others.

In Tampa, at the American Massage Therapy Association national conference thru Saturday. Excited to learn some new things and bring some new knowledge and techniques - through roughly 18 hours of continuing education - back home to impart on my fabulous clients!

I did a thing today at the State Fair. I bought this INCREDIBLE automated massage chair made by Human Touch. Has something like 60 different pre-programmed massage and relaxation modes. I just need to get it home after the fair next Sunday. Anyone free next Sunday evening and willing to help me maneuver it into the house in exchange for getting to take a few turns in the most relaxing seat on the planet? (I will have access to a truck - I just need extra manpower to get it in the house!)
