It’s my pleasure to announce the second release of “Lisbon” by Diane St. Clair.

The morning after the 2024 Art and Olfaction Awards, Diane and I took a walk together to smell the Jacarandas that were in bloom all over Lisbon. We met in the Principe Real Garden, walked under the canopy of its ancient Cypress, and then took in the magnificent Jacarandas with their creamy, honeyed-grape aroma.

Upon arriving back in Vermont, Diane went to work, incorporating cedar and juniper berry from the Cypress to balance the narcotic headiness of the flower. The resulting design, “Lisbon,” is a fragrance of shared memory, that turned out exactly as we’d hoped.

It’s my great please to announce the release of “Rushlight” by Michael Nordstrand of Mythologist Studio.

An homage to its humble namesake, Rushlight marries the warmth of beeswax with the intoxication of honeyed spring flowers, wrapping them in the deep green hush of hedgerows at dawn. Bay Leaf, Petitgrain, and Hops open onto a luminous heart of Linden Blossom, Mimosa, and Honeysuckle before seling into silken Musks, Orange Flower Water and softly spiced Beeswax. Quietly compelling, Rushlight reminds us that wherever certainty yields to the beauty of curiosity,
wonder emerges like a light from the shadows.

From Michael:
‘My inspiration came from an early kind of torch fashioned from the pith of common rushes dipped in beeswax. Against the looming darkness I imagine their light was quite modest, reminding me that certainty is seldom the companion of meaningful work. Sometimes those labours are long and the road ahead is unclear, but it doesn’t mean the path has not been laid before us.’

‘Mimosa and Linden Blossom formed the heart of the fragrance because they share the same
subtle radiance as the rushlight: golden & weightless, delicate but persistent. I imagined entire
fields of people holding them in the darkest hour before dawn, like golden blossoms adrift on a
sea of indgo shadows.’

‘I created Rushlight for the moments that define every creative life: venturing where no path
exists, guided only by the conviction to keep moving.’
