"Third-party tested" appears on nearly every cannabinoid supplier's website. Said identically by companies operating to very different standards, it has stopped carrying information. Here is something more useful instead.

Open a certificate of analysis and look at the THC row. If it says ND — non-detect — that does not mean zero. It means the compound was not detected by the method used, at that method's limit of detection. Set the limit high enough and material with a significant amount present will still read ND. The certificate is accurate. It is also telling you very little.

So the numbers worth finding are LOD and LOQ. Limit of detection, limit of quantitation. As a general guide, LOD sits at roughly a third of LOQ. On certificates written for low-threshold markets they should be printed on the document. Everywhere else, ask for them. They exist either way.

Then ask for one more: the measurement uncertainty. A certificate reporting 98% CBD tells you where the needle landed. The uncertainty tells you how far the needle moves. It is not a standard field on certificates of this kind, but the figure exists for every validated method — and whether an answer comes back at all tells you most of what you need to know.

This is not a small distinction. Our specification for Japan and the UK is below 1 ppm total THC, and at that level the detection limit behind an ND is the whole question. Two suppliers can both report ND while working to thresholds that differ by orders of magnitude. Only one of them is compliant in Tokyo. On August 1st, 1876, Colorado became the 38th state to join the Union, earning its nickname as the "Centennial Sate" for joining 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today marks 150 years of statehood, a milestone the Centennial State is celebrating in the very same year the country turns 250.

This one's a little personal for us. Mile High Labs was founded here, and this year marks our 10th. It's been a decade of building in the state whose name we carry. From a handful of us in Colorado to a team spanning two continents, our roots have never left the Front Range.

Colorado is known for its pioneering spirit and high standards, and those are the same standards we hold ourselves to in everything we make.

The Substance Access Beneficiary Engagement Incentive (BEI) is a pilot evaluating physician-supervised, hemp-derived CBD products in a more structured, outcomes-driven environment.

It’s early. It’s limited. And it’s not broad Medicare coverage.

But it does raise an important question for brands:
