Hi everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy! I just wanted to let everyone know I am working in a new salon! It's called Hairtique in Loveland and it's in Orchards Plaza by King Soopers. My first full day will be Thursday May 7. We are taking all precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible. Please PM if you need an appointment! Today, with hearts heavy and tears in their eyes, the stylists you love and need are preparing to walk away from their chair, their dream job, their income, and all their clients that they desperately love and care for. They are heavy with the burden of losing all of this at once, in the blink of an eye. They are worried and hopeful, terrified and prayerful. They know this is what must be done in order for this darkness to pass, but knowing doesn't make it easier.

So what can we do to help? Wait for them. Don't pick up a box of hair dye to "hold you over." Don't get out the kitchen scissors because you've "seen them do it a million times and its not that hard". Don't go purchase a wax pot that will make everything much worse! Don't find another stylist willing to fit you in at home. Wait on yours!! He/she needs you, and you need them! Reach out to them and purchase a gift certificate in any amount, everything helps! And...most importantly, pray for them. This wasn't something they were prepared for, and they are struggling with every aspect of not being behind that chair.

To my fellow stylists, my staff, my friends... This darkness will pass. We will be back soon with a brand new passion, our creative fires will burn brighter than ever! We will make magic again, as we never have before. We will find the light we have missed these dark weeks. I know in my heart we will all get through this together. And I know our comeback will be EPIC.

As hair stylists, we love our jobs. Sure we love to be creative, not sit behind a desk, flexible hours and so on. But the main reason we love our job is, because of the connections we make within our community. We are care givers by nature. Unlicensed therapists. People share their inner secrets, we laugh together and we cry together. I've been to client's birthday parties, graduations, weddings and unfortunately, one too many funerals. At this challenging moment in history, we, as stylists, not only have a moral obligation, but also within our licensing, a legal obligation for the safety and well being of our clients. While the Corona Virus is running rampant, we CAN NOT guarantee the safety of our clients. There is no such thing as social distancing in what we do. By going into people's homes during this pandemic, we run a big risk to not only ourselves, but to all our loved ones and clients. I stay home, because I love my job and the people who support me. I stay home, because I really hate goodbyes. This is a shared post ❤️ but I couldn't agree more or say it any better!
