Bits & pieces from April as your esthetician🪽

My job as your esthetician is to not only guide you, but educate you so you’re able to understand exactly what’s happening with your skin and how the products you utilize are working- so let’s breakdown some things that happened within this transformation!

That bumpy texture you see within the before picture is what we call non-inflamed acne. Throughout the clearing process for this specific kind of acne, we typically come across a period of “purging” that can make it feel like “everything is getting worse”. When really, your skin is doing exactly what it needs to do in order to heal.

With non-inflamed acne , and hers specifically, there are layers of dead skin cells trapping a buildup of keratin (dead skin) and sebum (oil) within the pore. When we start incorporating intentionally chosen products that dissolve those thick layers of dead skin cells, the congestion starts to relieve itself coming up & out of the pores. We call this purging. I’ve included a slide of what her skin looked like during the purging process which started roughly 2-4 weeks after starting her new skincare routine.

Thankfully she was very understanding and trusting of the process which lead her to where her skin is today- no more bumpy texture, just clear, healthy, resilient skin!
