And she wobbled right into our hearts 💕 Mel has Cerebellar Hyperplasia (CH), a neurological condition that causes uncoordinated motion and loss of balance. Aside from moving a little differently, CH cats live completely normal, happy lives! But that wasn’t the only thing affecting Mel’s ability to get around - x-rays revealed she’d had a recent trauma to her back leg that fractured her femoral head. Thankfully, this could be treated through an FHO surgery here at our Medical Center - because Mel could really use all four legs working the way they should to help her get around! Mel recently returned from a fun-filled foster stay with one of our volunteers who has two CH cats of their own, and she’s now ready for adoption! Ready for her to wobble into your heart? It’s like being on an emotional rollercoaster, right? This is caused by fluctuating hormones and an imbalance between progesterone and estrogen. Because of these hormonal shifts, your tolerance for small annoyances may be lower than usual. 🥴 Here’s how you can manage it: Stress management: Try yoga, deep breathing, meditation, or simply spending time in nature to calm your mind. Quality sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of restful sleep each night. Blood sugar balance: Ensure your meals have a good balance of protein, fiber, and healthy fats to keep your energy stable. Supplements: Magnesium, adaptogens, and omega-3s can be helpful in supporting your body through this phase. Exercise: Incorporate activities like resistance training, walking, or whatever you enjoy to keep your body and mind in balance.
