This new scent features heirloom roses with dewy green notes, reminiscent of an early morning in the vines... grounded with a refined, earthy leather aroma. The candle vessel is made with olive green recycled glass, topped with a tapered cork lid to look like your favorite bottle of wine.

The Vineyard Rose collection is a project with our friends and fellow makers at .beast. This collaboration combines their work in the Virginia wine and aromatic world with our signature soaps and candles. The tradition of planting roses in vineyards was once used as an early agricultural warning system for diseases like powdery mildew. Today, vineyards use sophisticated tools for ensuring vine health, but the aesthetic practice of planting vines and roses alongside one another remains.

Our candles are mixed and poured by hand in small batches in our Lovettsville, Virginia workshop using 100% US sourced natural beeswax, soy wax, premium essential and fragrance oils, and a natural h**p wick. As a handmade product, using all-natural wicks and waxes without petroleum products, these candles can be slower burning than what you may have used in the past. The slower burning allows for a longer lasting product, with better scent-throw, but requires an initial burn of 2 hours or more to allow a melt-pool to form across the entire diameter of the candle. This sets you up for success, as the candle forms a ‘memory’ of this initial burn, and will cooperate much better throughout its life, though it will always be best to allow a melt pool to form across the entire candle. As the candle continues to burn down, the container acts as an insulator, and promotes more even melting as the wax gets lower in the container.

This hand made bar features grape pomace: the skins, seeds, and stems that remain from grapes after they have been pressed for juice or wine. The pomace provides a light exfoliant as well as beneficial polyphenols and bioactive compounds often used for cosmetics and skincare products.

The scent evokes heirloom roses and green vines with notes of geranium leaf, suede, and clover.

We were extra picky when developing this scent, since lilacs are my personal favorite bloom. There are a lot of whacked out versions on the market, and we wanted this new soap to really, actually smell like the those delicate, ephemeral early days of spring.

This decadent soap was a classic in the 90’s, brought back by popular demand. Cocoa Butter Vanilla boasts special blend of vanilla fragrance oils, delicately selected to smell like the bean, not a cloying cupcake. Cocoa Butter is added to the recipe to provide an extra rich, creamy lather. This one has always been, and remains one of my top fav’s.
