Natural-Way Products has developed a line of moisturizing creams without the "chemical soup" : parabens, glycols, extenders, preservatives, dye, and other chemicals that can be absorbed through the skin. The fate of the metabolites may not be understood. The list of ingredients can be 'as long as your arm' - just read a label for commercial hand creams that must remain on store shelves for an unsp
ecified period of time. Certain preservatives and chemicals in creams can elicit an allergic-like response in individuals that have for whatever reason become previously sensitized after a different and even unknown chemical exposure. For example, many people are allergic to Benzalkonium chloride used as a preservative in medications (such as eye drops), in hand sanitizers, hygienic towelettes and wet wipes, aftershave, deodorants, hair products and cosmetics (foundations, lipstick). Other preservatives are known to cause irritation.The compounds methylisothiazolinone (MI) and methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) are often used in combination and are commonly found in shower gels, wipes, suncreams, deodorants, hand lotions and even washing-up liquids. They also have multiple industrial uses. There is an alternative. Natural-Way Products use carefully chosen botanical oils in our creams (sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower seed oil) and rosemary essential oil. These oils have been identified to be natural biocides, but more importantly, mimic the skin's sebum (oily and waxy secretions, especially important in acne problems), tricking the skin to produce less oil in the follicles. The creams come in no-scent and three fragrances using essential oils, sandalwood, rosemary, lavender. We also make an olive oil - coconut oil - palm oil based body soap. This soap also contains glycerin, vitamin E oil, and with or without the essential oil fragrance.
