Have you ever wondered how often you should clean or even replace your hairbrush? I am sure you did and probably never took the time to research the subject.

How often are you replacing your hairbrush?

Have you ever asked yourself how often you should replace your hairbrush?

A good rule of thumb is to change your brush every 6 months. The round protective dots on each spike are will deteriorated, creating more friction and damage to your hair. This happens over time and you might not even realize that increased damage takes place while brushing.

How often are you cleaning your hairbrush?

The residue that you see in your hairbrush that resembles grey lint. It is dead skin cells and sebum along with old, matted hair and hair product residue. It is recommended that you should clean our hairbrushes weekly or more often.

How can you clean your hairbrush?

•Start with a rattail comb( a comb with a pointed in) remove all of the hair going in between the bristles.
•Fill the sink with hot water and add a clarifying shampoo.
•Place bed with bristles down let soak for a 20 minutes, then take an old toothbrush and scrub the bristles and the base of the hairbrush.
•Dry off with towel and place face down to dry thoroughly.

So I was ready to throw these puppies out because they’d seen better days. Then I thought “why don’t I try washing them with Monat and see what happens”. 🤷‍♀️ People this is only one wash and my extensions are new again, more vibrant and so soft. Look at how shiny they are. I’m a happy girl!!! 😄!
