MYTH MONDAY 🤔
"Any vaginal bleeding on hormone replacement therapy is considered abnormal...."
Surprisingly, this is a myth! 🚫
There are certain situations when we actually tell our patients that a little spotting or bleeding can occur, including:
✨ When first starting hormone therapy
✨ After a dose adjustment
✨ After missing doses — especially progesterone
That being said, we never want to ignore or minimize postmenopausal bleeding.
If you experience bleeding, always let your healthcare provider know. Every situation should be evaluated individually based on your hormone regimen, how long you’ve been on therapy, your bleeding pattern, and your personal risk factors.
When indicated, evaluation may include a pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound and, in some cases, an endometrial biopsy.
Bottom line: Bleeding on hormone therapy does not automatically mean something is wrong — but it should always be discussed with your provider. ❤️

Myth Monday🤔
"All Birth Control Methods Are Created Equally..."
❌ FALSE!
Birth control is NOT one-size-fits-all. Different options work differently, have different benefits, and different risks.
💊 The Pill
Easy to start and stop, but requires consistency. And not all pills are the same - there are different estrogen/progestin combinations and different dosing options.
💉 The Shot
Convenient because you don’t have to remember a daily pill, but it can come with changes in bleeding patterns and other considerations.
🩹 The Patch & Ring
Hormonal options that don’t require taking a pill every day, but they still contain hormones and aren’t appropriate for everyone.
🌀 IUDs
Both hormonal and non-hormonal options are available. They’re among the most effective forms of reversible contraception and can last for several years.
💪 The Implant
A small, long-acting hormonal option placed under the skin of the arm. Extremely effective and requires very little maintenance.
And then there are barrier methods, permanent contraception, fertility awareness methods, and more.
So, which one is BEST?
👉 That depends on YOU.
Your age, health history, medications, lifestyle, menstrual cycle, future pregnancy plans, and personal preferences all matter when choosing contraception.
Myth busted! 💥
If you’re overwhelmed by all the choices, that’s exactly what we’re here for. Let’s find the option that makes the most sense for you.
