❌ MYTH: “My hair feels healthy, so it can handle bleach!”

✅ TRUTH: How your hair feels doesn’t always tell us what’s happening inside the hair strand.

Your hair can feel soft and shiny but still have:
🧪 Previous color or lightener hiding underneath
🔥 Heat damage
💧 High porosity
🪮 Weak or compromised areas
⚡ Reduced elasticity that can lead to breakage

That’s why I’m not just looking at your hair and saying, “Yep, we can make you blonde!” 😂

Strand tests, hair history, realistic expectations, and the condition of your hair ALL matter when deciding how far we can safely lighten in one appointment.

✨ Healthy hair will always be more important than getting to the goal color in one session.

Your dream hair is a journey sometimes, and I’d rather take the scenic route than leave your hair on the salon floor. 😭✂️

A little blonde can make a BIG difference. 🤌🏼

We took her from grown-out, uneven color to a soft, dimensional blonde with a much more seamless blend from root to ends. I wanted to give her brightness without losing depth, so we kept that natural dimension throughout and added those creamy pops of blonde. 🤍

One of my favorite things about dimensional color is that you don’t have to be solid blonde to feel blonde. Keeping some depth actually makes those lighter pieces POP even more. 👏🏼

✨ THROWBACK THURSDAY: 3 YEARS OF GROWTH ✨

College ➡️ Now. 🥹✂️

I wanted to post this because sometimes we get so focused on where we aren’t yet that we completely forget to look back at how far we’ve come.

The stylist who did the hair in the first picture was still learning. Still figuring out formulation, placement, timing, toning, consultations… ALL of it. She didn’t have everything figured out.

And honestly? Neither does the stylist in the second picture. 🤍

The difference is three years of practice. Three years of mistakes. Three years of education. Three years of asking questions, trying again, getting uncomfortable, and refusing to stop learning.

So this one is for my baby stylists:

PLEASE don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten.

You’re going to have appointments that make you question whether you’re good enough. You’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to have days where something doesn’t turn out exactly how you pictured it.

Keep going anyway.

Take the pictures. Study your work. Ask questions. Invest in education. Learn WHY something worked and why something didn’t. And give yourself permission to be a beginner.

One day you’ll look back at the work you’re doing right now and realize just how much you’ve grown. 🌱

I still have SO much I want to learn and improve on, but seeing these pictures side by side reminds me that I’m not where I started.

Three years can change a lot. Imagine where we’ll be in three more. 🥹🫶🏼

Dry hair and damaged hair aren’t automatically the same thing.

Your hair might need moisture, repair, or a combination of both, and piling every “repair” product you can find onto your hair isn’t necessarily the answer.
