If Baltimore County or Majority of Maryland hits “Substantial” or “High” masks will be HIGHLY recommended inside the studio (for vaccinated persons or not)- per CDC guidance.

Updates to Covid-19 Protocols

Hello Everyone!

Governor Hogan has made the decision to open Maryland, and personal services specifically at 100%. Sola Salon Suites has made certain decisions in regards to the building and common spaces beyond my control. Front doors will be open and common areas will be open to anyone. Chairs and a "waiting room" style environment will return as of your next appointment.

I know many of you are still following CDC Guidelines, all Covid safety protocols, and are careful in choosing where you do business during this pandemic. I want you to know that my studio specifically will continue following all CDC guidelines despite Governor Hogan's actions.

I want you all to feel safe and comfortable in my space. If you feel more comfortable waiting from your car, please continue to do so. I will continue to take your calls and meet you at the front door, or you can wait in the hallways.

PLEASE, do what makes you the most COMFORTABLE, I will work with you.

Masks will continue to be mandatory within the entire building.

I look forward to seeing all of you, especially as we begin to transition into the "New Normal".

To all my clients,

I want you to know I appreciate your patience. I apologize if I haven’t returned a call/text/question over the last few weeks. I am working on getting back to each of you. Please read this email thoroughly and completely, as there are very important changes of which you should be aware.

Now that I have gotten some guidance from the State Board of Cosmetology as well as the owner of Sola, I feel better about sharing the new guidelines put in place for the Post-Covid salon experience. Many of these rules have been put in place by my landlord for the safety of all inside Sola. I want you all to feel safe and to know I take great pride in ensuring a clean and sanitized studio. I look forward to the day (hopefully very soon) where these procedures will no longer be necessary.

-Upon arrival, please text/call 443-791-7595, to let me know you have arrived. The front doors will remain locked and I will come to the front door to greet you. Remember I may be with another client and will need to finish with them, and sanitize the room before you may enter. Your patience is much appreciated.
-All Clients must arrive at Sola wearing a Mask. In order to perform a hair service, it must be looped around the ears. NO MASK, NO SERVICE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
-I will be taking temperatures, Any temperature above 100℉ will be asked to reschedule.
-All clients will be required to wash or sanitize hands before entering the studio.
-No +1’s. Only the person receiving the service may be allowed in the building. This includes children. For the foreseeable future I will be eliminating kids haircuts.
-All hallways have been marked as One Way, please respect the markings in the hallways.
-All touch pads (for entry and the restroom) have been disabled to eliminate high traffic touch points.

Please understand that you may witness other stylists adhering to different protocols within their suites. I want you to know that I take Covid and the spread of the virus, extremely seriously. I plan to come back with limited hours in the beginning to decrease exposure. It is going to take a substantial amount of time to reschedule everyone and the wait for an appointment will be longer than usual. At this time I am making these changes for both my physical and mental health as well as the well-being of all who enter my studio. If you feel like you cannot wait for an appointment, please, I encourage you to look elsewhere. I know this is not the news most of you had hoped for. But the Post Covid world is going to be very different.

If we have learned anything from this experience, it should be to remain kind and supportive of each other. I feel these feelings for all of you and I hope you can understand and respect my decisions.

Well that was confusing!

After the announcement from Baltimore County Officials yesterday, my studio will remain closed for the foreseeable future. With no end date announced, it's back to the original plan... Waiting it out.

Strandz will be Opening May 26

As many of you may know by now, Governor Hogan has lifted the Stay at Home Order and as of Friday May 15, salons may resume at 50% capacity.

I have chosen to open May 26.

As of right now, the Maryland State Board of Cosmetology has yet to release any sort of reopening instructions for salons, nor have I heard from my landlord about how to proceed within our environment at 50% capacity. PPE that I ordered over a month ago has still not arrived. Therefore I cannot in good conscience open my doors by next week. Hogan simply did not give the salon industry a fair chance to open successfully with 2 days notice.

Thank you for the OVERWHELMING response after Hogan's announcement. I've never seen my phone blow up like that. I appreciate that you are all excited to get back to the salon, however ALL APPOINTMENTS WILL BE RESCHEDULED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY WERE CANCELLED. I have over 120 appointments to reschedule and I have to be fair and equal with each of you. If you did not have an appointment with me before Quarantine-- Please reach out (via text or email only) to get on the list to be called for an appointment.

I appreciate you all more than you can know and really I cannot wait to see all of your faces (masked of course!) We've all waited this long, a little stretch longer for will not harm us. It's just hair.

A unicorn came to see me the other day 🦄 A full VIRGIN head (and I mean FULL—- she had so much hair to work with!! It was awesome!) 🤗🤗 This client wanted to be as blonde as possible while still looking “lived in”. A ton of babylights, and foilyage made this transformation happen— I’d say 90% of her hair was in foils by the end of this! hair paint left her just as healthy as when we started!! for the win!!
