Memorial Day on the water. 8 hours. 11.5 miles. Two years. Two hurricanes. One lost roof rack. One suboptimal rental board two weeks ago that reminded me exactly what I was missing. Friday my rack arrived. Monday we launched. This is why I paddle board. Not because it’s a “workout.” Because it’s a full-body conversation — quads, glutes, hamstrings, core, shoulders, arms — every stroke a negotiation between balance and intention. It is functional movement in its most elemental form. Your body doing exactly what it was designed to do, on water, under sky, through Spanish moss and spring-fed rivers. My friend Amy had never been on a paddleboard before. She got on and went. That’s what happens when you put a capable body in its element and get out of the way. We ended the day at Swampy’s. Because eight hours on the water earns you that. This is For Love of the Body. Not just a philosophy. A practice. Yesterday was proof.

The Intentional Alignment Practice on the Beach There is no better altar than the one the earth builds itself. Sand beneath me. Atlantic in front of me. Sun climbing through clouds that couldn’t hold it back. This is where I do my Intentional Alignment Practice™ — not because the beach is the only place it works, but because this morning, this was exactly where I needed to be. Four statements. Three questions. One body that knows the truth before the mind does. The tide doesn’t second-guess itself. The sun doesn’t wait for permission. Neither do you. Neither do I. What would it mean to begin your day as intentionally as the ocean begins the tide?

The Sunrise / New Beginnings The ocean doesn’t ask permission to rise. Neither do I. Every morning the sun climbs through the clouds, through the resistance, and still — it shows up. Fully. Brilliantly. Without apology. This morning I stood at the edge of the Atlantic with my soul sister Christina and watched the sky catch fire. No agenda. Just presence. New beginnings don’t always announce themselves with trumpets. Sometimes they look like salt air, curly hair, and two women who’ve both been through enough to know exactly how sacred this moment is. Here’s to rising

She stood at the edge of the world and remembered who she was. 🏔✨ Two years post hamstring reattachment surgery. Every mile earned. Every view deserved.

There is nothing quite like a day spent with your person. Today with Paige was exactly that —the kind of day that fills you all the way up.
We started by giving Blue Waffle (yes, that’s the car’s name, a proper glow-up with some eyelashes because obviously. Hit the gym. Then we walked to Hot Power Yoga — and sweated every single thing out on that mat. Made dinner together after. Just… all of it.
This girl right here. I am so grateful for her, for this reconnection, for every ordinary extraordinary moment we get to build together.
Greensboro, you were good to us today. 💜
