BACK TO SCHOOL REMINDERS FROM OUR FRIENDS AT The Skin Cancer Foundation :

Back to school doesn’t mean we forget about sun protection! Did you know that kids can get significant UV exposure just walking to school, during recess or sports practice? In fact, nearly 23% of lifetime sun exposure occurs before age 18.
The best way to make sun protection a habit is to make it part of your child’s daily routine. Here’s some things to keep in mind:
-Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ before leaving for school (and have your child reapply before recess if they are able).
- Dress them in protective UPF clothing. Layers are best are we transition from summer to fall.
- Don’t forget a hat & sunglasses!
-Encourage shade during outdoor breaks, if possible.
