Sometimes curls just need less weight.
Removing length brought the shape and curl pattern back into balance.

I ask new guests to send photos before I approve appointments.
Not because I’m difficult.
Because hair density, length, texture, and previous color all determine how much time I need.
A 45 minute haircut on fine shoulder length hair is very different than thick curly hair past the shoulders.
Photos help me protect your time and mine.
Low-maintenance results start with planning.

The goal isn’t dramatic.
It’s intentional.
Curly cuts aren’t about taking off more.
They’re about placing weight correctly.
Here, the perimeter was heavy and the shape was starting to collapse.
I rebalanced the cut so the curls could sit where they want to sit.
That’s what makes a curly cut last.

Four years of being independent!
I’ve had to learn things I never thought I’d need to know: taxes, index funds, branding, contracts, boundaries…
I’ve mostly figured it out as I go...thank you,
I’ve found my niche (finally), prioritized my health, and built a schedule that allows me to work and walk my chihuahua 700 times a day.
Some days I feel grounded and grateful.
Other days I want to light it all on fire and let Tito run the business while I nap in the breakroom.
But I’ve built something that’s mine. And that still feels pretty damn good.
Thanks to everyone who’s been part of it along the way.
Here’s to year five. ✂️🐾🍾

Let’s talk about low porosity curls for a second.
If water just sits on your hair in the shower or products don’t seem to sink in, your cuticle is probably sealed up tight. And that’s not a bad thing. It just means hydration takes a little strategy.
This beauty has coarse, non-porous hair. She hadn’t had a haircut in a long time, so her ends were pretty sparse and split. I cleaned up her shape to bring back some weight and make the ends look thick again.
For styling, I used Quiet Calm curl control and applied it section by section on soaking wet hair and brushed it through for even saturation. Then I let it dry under a hooded dryer.
Low porosity is all about the approach. Aren’t her curls stunning?!

If you’ve ever wondered how I think about hair, this sums it up.
Thanks to everyone who’s sat in my chair. And if you haven’t yet, maybe someday.
Hey, I’m Christy.
I like to focus on how your hair grows out, how it moves, and how easy it is to live in. Not just how it looks when you walk out of the salon…
I take a technical, detailed approach to everything I do. I specialize in curls, detailed haircuts, and color. Especially low-maintenance styles that actually work for your day to day life.
If you’re new here, welcome.
If you’ve been with me for a while, thanks for trusting me with your hair. 💛

This is the part you don’t always see. Tools clean, space reset, energy grounded.
I don’t rush this part. Your time in my chair starts with intention.
I’m always thinking a few steps ahead. Your hair’s integrity, your lifestyle, and what will still feel good weeks later.
From the tools I use to the products I trust, everything here is chosen for a reason

✨She usually makes me look good in photos, so it was time to return the favor.
We brightened her up for summer, because ✨Ohio’s been looking more November than June lately.
✨Blondes might not solve all your problems, but they will distract you from the weather. 😎☀️
