With full hearts, we share that Rustic Reflections will be closing its doors. This space has been filled with so many memories, laughs, and beautiful transformations.

Our last day at our current location will be March 21st.

While this chapter is ending, a new one is just beginning. We are both moving to Velvet Shears Hair Salon, and we would absolutely love for you to follow us there. You can find us at:

Susie has been talking to me about getting her hair done for almost two years — she’s one of those people who will give the shirt off her back to help someone else, but rarely takes the time to do something for herself.

She’s a natural redhead, but life — being human, an incredible mom, and a badass small business owner — had slowly taken the pigment from her hair. So we gave it a soft refresh: enhanced her natural tones, added a little blonde for dimension… and then, something special.

During our consultation, I asked how she felt about vivid colors, because I had an idea I felt in my heart she would connect with.

Recently, Susie and her family went through the unimaginable. She gave birth to her beautiful daughter Penelope at just 18 weeks. That little girl fought long enough to feel her mommy and daddy’s love — and for them to feel hers. 💕

We decided to incorporate pink into her hair — not just as a color, but as a symbol. Pink is one of the colors in the infant loss awareness ribbon, and it was the perfect way to honor Penelope as the beautiful little girl she was.

Susie, thank you for trusting me — not just with your hair, but with your heart. Thank you for letting me help you release some of the trauma your hair carried, and for allowing me to bring this vision to life in honor of your daughter.
