Congratulations to Jayla Evans of Howard High School for being named the winner of this year’s FLEX Competition! Her business is called ACOS and stands for “A Couple of Stiches.” Her company makes sustainable crochet hats and bags for young adults.
This is the third year the Bibb County School District and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce were selected to participate in the Georgia FLEX competition. The goal of the Georgia Foundational Leadership and Entrepreneurship Experience (FLEX) is to create prosperity and revitalize rural entrepreneurial ecosystems by educating students on the rewards, sacrifices, and processes incurred in establishing small businesses.
Jayla received a $5000 startup fund from the Griffith Family Foundation and advances to the Georgia FLEX Competition in April 2025 for the opportunity to win up to $10,000.
