Working in this industry has taught me that being talented is only one part of the journey.

I’ve learned how to navigate spaces where I may not always feel understood, where communication styles, personalities, and even cultural differences can sometimes make the experience more challenging than the actual work.

I’ve learned that sometimes you can walk into a room with good intentions and still be perceived differently. That advocating for yourself can be mistaken for having an attitude. That confidence can make some people uncomfortable. And that sometimes you have to work a little harder to make sure your professionalism speaks louder than someone else’s perception of you.

But I’ve also learned not to let any of that change who I am.

I still show up. I still educate myself. I still pour into my clients. I still celebrate other stylists. I still ask questions, take accountability, and continue growing.

Every experience hasn’t been easy, but every experience has taught me something. And one thing I know for sure: I’m becoming a stronger stylist, a better professional, and a woman who knows how to stand firm in who she is without losing her softness. 🤎✨

This chapter is teaching me just as much about people as it is about hair.
