Take your time. This morning I woke up and realized how much of a gift today is. My dear aunt Lany lived her last day tiday, until two minutes past midnight, after having bravely battled cancer for 16 months. She loved us so much, and I know she is now in heaven. But these words have come into my mind so many times today: Take your time. Every moment is a gift from God, and by appreciating these moments, and doing things with love, without rushing, we are actually loving God back. So I took a whole hour to write a letter to myself, because I want to remind myself of this as much as I can. Here’s an invitation to take your time, slow down, savory the moment, and even maybe write a letter to yourself too. Remind yourself of what really matters.

Ahhh the wisdom of Sesame Street! Big things many times come in small packages. This children’s book holds great recommendations on mindfulness, for both kids and adults!
A few of my favorite tips from this book:
1) “Name it to tame it”: Be mindful of exactly what you are feeling (is it anxiety? Is it sadness?) This is the first most powerful strategic step to then tackle that emotion.
2) “Belly Breathing”: Your breath is your anchor, it is always with you; it grounds you. Place your hands on your belly, and slowly breath out for 4 seconds; Hold it for 2 seconds; and then slowly breath 4 seconds. Repeat for as long as you’d like!
3) “Sing a song”: Everybody has a favorite song or a song that has meaningful lyrics. Sing that song in your head; Repeat the lyrics a few times. This is a classic at Sesame Street!

Play is the opposite of anxiety and worry. Play forces you to let go. Combine that with true friendship, grounded in purpose, and you’ve got gold.. I am so thankful my dear husband (middle) has such an awesome group of friends with whom he can play his music, but also rely on. I love you

Of course, I try to keep the kitchen tidy, but sometimes, there are other priorities which lead you to wash the dishes at a later time; And that’s OK too! Especially if you need to get outside and have some fun with your family. A few chocolate crepes downtown on a summer Sunday afternoon won’t hurt either! ☀️

This is one tired mama. What. A. Week. It’s so important to acknowledge our limitations and know we are doing the best we can; Celebrate that endless string of little accomplishments that mean SO much. And when you feel that tiredness, TAKE A BREAK. That’s what self-care is for. Take the time to test; to simple “be” and not do; To regain that inner peace which is key in life. But ultimately, never forget to always keep that JOY alive inside of you.

Mapping out your daily, weekly and monthly priorities will change your life. It keeps you grounded throughout the day to ensure you’re on the right track and practicing your time-management skills. At the end of the day, it’s such a gift to see what you’ve accomplished, especially if it’s at least ONE of the priorities you had mapped out. Let’s talk about the power of herbal medicine for improving mental health. 1) Bach flowers is a type of homeopathic medicine very little known in the US, but extremely popular in Latin America and Europe. There are more than 500 varieties, which you tailor to your specific needs, and are safe during pregnancy. These have been a game-changer for me; I have a combination of 7 different flowers ranging from Verbena to Olive, which come in small, concentrated bottles. Just make sure you’re using the original BACH brand. 2) Lavender tablets (as well as an Grade A or food-grade lavender essential oil). I found these on Amazon. 3) CBD oil. I used this for the first time a few months ago, and it definitely helps with anxiety. It is very important you purchase a qualified organic brand, so it’s important to do your research.
