Wondering why your Botox may not be lasting as long as expected? A few factors could be playing a role:

Working out too soon: It’s generally recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for the first several hours after treatment, as increased blood flow may contribute to swelling or bruising.

Alcohol too soon: Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising and swelling around your treatment, which is why it’s best to follow your injector’s pre- and post-care instructions.

Waiting too long between appointments: Consistency matters. As Botox wears off, muscle movement gradually returns. Your injector can help determine a treatment schedule that works best for you.

Not enough units: Everyone’s anatomy is different. Stronger muscles may require a different dose to achieve your desired result and duration.

We’re excited to now offer acupuncture at Body Anew every Thursday with Dennis W. Holmes, a nationally certified and Mississippi-licensed acupuncturist with more than 20 years of experience in Oriental Medicine.

A Jackson native, Dennis earned his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has spent his career helping patients work toward better overall health and wellness through acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture is a gentle, relaxing experience designed with your comfort in mind. It may be used to support a variety of wellness needs, including stress, tension, discomfort, sleep concerns and overall well-being. Dennis takes an individualized approach to care, working with each patient based on their unique needs and wellness goals.
